[indent]Following the close of the [b]Second Terrible War [/b](1942-1948), the world has finally known peace. Following the defeat of the Pact of Faith, the two major nations of the Coalition overlook a world in political and economic ruin. Drawn together against a common enemy, the Coalition dissolved and both nations found themselves immediately vying to gather up the remaining nations in their sphere of influence and those who were once friends, were suddenly less so.

Now, each of these two nations are at each other’s throats--but given the presence of immense nuclear arsenals and conventional armies the size the world has never seen, this has become a war of information, deception and influence.[/indent]

[center][b]The World[/b][/center]
[indent]There are two world superpowers, the [b][color=white]Republic of Zellonia[/color][/b]--espousing the ideology of [b]National Republicanism[/b] of individualism, freedom to demonstrate and protest and freedom of opportunity. It's former ally of the Second Terrible War and ideological opponent was the [b][color=purple]Socialist Republic of Violette[/color][/b], embodying the ideas of [b]Popular Socialism[/b], largely ambiguous in both design and intent. These nations have evolved past conventional warfare, following the [b]Serianeax Nuclear Test[/b] in 1946, a new age was born, an atomic age. Eleven months later the 11 kiloton [i]V Zero[/i] was detonated beneath the Nord Sea by the [b][color=purple]Socialist Republic of Violette[/color][/b]. 

It is now January, 1948 and many believe a new war is starting, an equally horrific war where ideology is the new weapon. Across the world, both [b]Zellonia[/b] and [b][color=purple]Violette[/color][/b] are poised to tip the dominoes and begin collecting nations into their collective sphere of influence. The [b]International Threat Meter[/b] monitors the international community's fear of impending nuclear doom.

Welcome all! This is a Cold War Nation RP is a world similar to ours known as the [b]Known World[/b], but with cultural and geographical differences. Given this RP has been in development for a few days, many player nations are already present.
