I'm angling more for the drama and tension of her old squad coming for her. Leave her stuck between keeping her word to a merc outfit that's kept her relatively safe, even if they didn't know about it, and saving her own neck. I tend to think that, lacking the usual options for bonding, she'd come to recognize an effective team's utility and stand with them even if only for purely practical reasons. 

Maybe her old squad would opt to try and buy off her so-called allies, maybe the latest job is a setup and the team would have to fight their way out of an ambush, maybe the other mercs would get tired of the constant threat of corp hit-teams and make some kind of move.

Personally, I see plenty of possibilities.
