It's not a matter of less or more powerful, but that there doesn't seem to be any growth potential. He's already a master swordsman, has incredible blood powers, and wields an indestructible blade of evil. You need to give me some sign he has room to grow beyond that, because as is he stands better suited for a professor then a student and I'm not making those roles available anytime soon.
