Name: Lanist Khaganate Overview: The Lanist Khaganate is a highly technologically advanced nation originating from an alternate version of Earth they've come to call "Delkhii" after the mongol word for Earth, although Earth and Terra are also often used. It has the capability to travel to different dimensions and realities due to its highly unstable form of Faster-Than-Light travel, and is always accidental rather than intentional. It is ruled by a Khagan, the current of which is a man named Yuri Lanist, although the title of Khan is more commonly used. Much of its economy and production are done by robots. Government: The Lanist Khaganate is an elective monarchy. Contrary to the Mongol Empire it came from the Khan is not chosen by a Kurultai, but by the Khaganate's people. The Kurultai has become the advisory council to the Khan. The Kurultai is a political and military advisory council made up of Khaganate generals, ministers, statesmen, etc of the Lanist Khaganate. The members of the Kurultai are appointed by the Khan himself. Military: Like the ancient Mongol Empire, the Khaganate often employs a highly mobile form of ground warfare. Highly flexible units made up from tanks, IFVs, and other armored and mechanized vehicles lead by leaders that had a lot of authority over these small unit allowed the Khaganate armies to easily flank, outmaneuver and ambush their enemies. Giant landships act as artillery support, mobile command base, and place where vehicles can be repaired and refueled all at the same time.
History: Coming from an alternate version of Earth where the Mongol empire never declined and fell, but just kept conquering, a predecessor of the Lanist Khaganate was eventually able to unify the globe. Because of the near-constant state of warfare, new technologies were rapidly developed, culminating in the invention of the Landships, massive weapons platforms mounted on colossal tank tracks capable of supplying and supporting vast armies that came to be known as landship fleets. After the invention of such powerful weapons, including WMDs such as nukes, most resistance against the mongol empire quickly fell, and it was able to unite virtually the entire globe under one global nation. Space-age technologies were developed, eventually culminating in the invention of the wormhole generator that would allow starships to create wormholes to travel faster than light and travel to other stars. Slowly, the mongol empire, although under different names based upon its leaders this time, would expand again, this time into the stars. After much settling, expansion, war and conquest, the Lanist Khaganate had conquered most of their side of the galaxy with the help of the advanced technology they developed and stole. A Great Expansion Fleet was made, led by Khan Lanist himself. The fleet made a wormhole, entered it, and dissapeared never to be seen again, to the distress of the Khaganate's population. Unbeknownst to the public, the fleet survived, and had arrived at a strange Planet where they tried to settle, failing miserably as the planet was destroyed. After a series of adventures and shenanigans in alternate dimensions and realities, the Grand Expansion Fleet arrived in the Diddly Do sector. As an interstellar empire, the Khaganate is dependent on interstellar and interplanetary transport and travel to achieve its goals and have a functioning nation, and the wormhole drive, as a technology that allows Khaganate ships to travel faster than the speed of light, fulfills this need. Basic Khaganate wormhole drives have 3 fundamental components that make them work: The spacetime folder, the mass compressor, and the exotic matter scaffold device, or EMSD. More advanced verions, like the wormhole drive of the KSS Atlas, may have additional components to add different functions, like increased wormhole stability, shorter travel times, or the ability to generate multiple wormholes at once. -The spacetime folder folds local spacetime around the Khaganate ship or fleet. This makes the location of the ship slightly closer to the destination, and also curves the fabric of space-time in such a way that allows for the second component, the mass compressor to work. -The mass compressor generates a singularity, a point of infinite density, for a very brief moment by compressing incredible amounts of matter together. This then 'punctures' a hole through spacetime itself to the intended destination, creating the wormhole tunnel. For this to work, spacetime has to be 'folded' by the first component of the wormhole drive first. The process of 'puncturing' takes about a nanosecond to happen, and takes tremendous amounts of energy. This part of the wormhole drive is the reason Khaganate wormhole drives take a lot of energy to run. -After the Mass Compressor has created a tunnel to the destination, the EMSD then 'scaffolds' the wormhole using exotic matter, a form of matter with negative mass. This negative mass creates a negative gravitational force that repels things rather than attracting, and is used to stabilize the wormhole. Exotic matter is rare but can be harvested by specialized Khaganate ships, but it is often generated aboard the spaceship that created the wormhole in the first place, usually because it is easier to do so. While these are the most important components of a wormhole drive, wormhole drives are always supported by large quantum supercomputers, which calculates all the necessary calculations to generate a wormhole. Khaganate navigators just have to put the coordinates of the destination into the drive system, and the quantum supercomputer which is connected to the bridge's systems will start calculating the energy, trajectory and spacetime curvature that is required. While the wormhole drive is very advanced, Khaganate wormhole technology is not perfect, and accidents will often happen. The most efficient and safest form of wormhole transport is between 2 systems that have already been taken by the Khaganate, that way the precise coordinates and information of the star system on the other side is already known. The leading cause of wormhole accidents is often the extreme enviroment of the wormhole itself, which may disrupt fleet formations and cause ships to go out of the wormhole unexpectedly. One way of preventing or at least mitigating the damage of such accidents is to employ the use of wormhole-resistant materials, which brings us to our next topic, Advanced Materials.
Advanced materials

Robotics

Nanotechnology

Feral nanobots
Assigned Feral Nanobots Non-assigned Feral Nanobots NAFNs are a phenomenon where a population of nanobots will go feral without ever having received a task. This causes the nanobots to all go into their emergency mode separatly, rather than as a group, which means that taking materials from the environment, converting them into useful products and self-replication will all happen individually per nanobot. Since all nanobots have their own blueprints stored inside them since they need to self-replicate, mutations will often happen in these blueprints like they would happen in DNA. This will often mean that the nanites will evolve into several different species, creating a rich ecosystem of nanite species all competing with eachother for resources, until finally a sentient species emerges. She is about 6 feet tall, with long, flowing red hair, clear blue eyes, and a pretty face. Most often she is dressed in her military uniform, wearing her hair in a ponytail, but what she wears varies from situation to situation. Abilities: Because she is a general of the Lanist Khaganate, Katie Anderson is a very good leader and strategist. She is relatively skilled in swordfighting, as well as a good shot. Personality: General Anderson is often optimistic, and almost always very cheerful and talkative. However, she can also be arrogant and irritable. Due to relatively recent events, she started having nightmares regularly after she was nearly killed by alien four-armed creatures while commanding a landship. Equipment: One-handed sword made out of titanium. Background: Katie Anderson was born on the ringworld known as New-Dadu, a ringworld megastructure in the Four-Ringworlds system, aptly named because the star system contained four ringworlds. Katie's father, a man named Jerry Anderson, was the governor of the system, like Katie's grandfather had been and lived in the capital city of Khanbaliq. Jerry Anderson had been appointed as governor by the Khan before Yuri. The governor was a man who was very interested in scientific research and development, and would often host lavish dinner parties where he and his inner circle got to know many of the researchers that were working on the ringworld. That was where he met Katie's mother, Gwyneth Bryant. Katie's mother was a lesser-known xenobiologist assigned to studying the passive space-borne alien species that had been living in the system before the megastructures were built, and had adapted remarkably fast after the four ringworlds had been completed. When Jerry met Gwyneth, they fell in love, married shortly after, and had a kid, who they named Katie. Because Katie was the daughter of the governor, almost nothing was beyond her reach due to her father's power and wealth. She grew up spoiled, getting everything that she asked for. However, as she grew older and childhood and puberty eventually turned into adulthood, she found that she had become bored with the luxurious life, and she joined the Khaganate Military Academy on Mars in the Sol system as a cadet after easily passing her entrance exams. Several years later, she had graduated, and was sent to help mop up resistance forces in a recently conquered sector. During her military career, she eventually met and began a fierce rivalry with General Arman Nurzhan. Her tactical brilliance caused her meteoric rise through the ranks of the Lanist Khaganate Army, until she eventually earned the rank of General. General Katie Anderson was believed to be dead after the ship she was on crashed after a failed wormhole jump. After being reunited with her former rival, General Arman Nurzhan, the two found a crash-landed Khaganate ship, the KSS Tsol, and used some of its parts to build a pod to escape the planet that they were stranded on. While they initially thought that they were going to die in outer space as they saw the Khaganate fleet had disappeared, they were saved by the KSS Atlas. After being questioned and examined, they were eventually released from the custody of the Omega Order, and boarded a small transport craft that would bring them to a civilian craft.

Name: James Maleski Species: Human Gender: Male Age: 30 Appearance: James is nearly 2 meters tall and has a very muscular build due to military training. His hair is of a dark blonde color, and he has blue eyes. James is most often dressed in the military gear he needs for the mission he is on, and this changes per mission. Equipment: Omega Order standard combat gear. Background: James, after completing his military training and serving in the army for several years was recruited into the Omega Order, the primary Khaganate force for fighting against the unknown.

Name: Arman Nurzhan Species: Human Gender: Male Age: 35 Appearance: Arman is unusually tall, standing at around 7 feet tall. He has short, white hair and grey eyes. He constantly has a very stern expression on his face, much to the chagrin of his colleague, General Anderson. Three scars caused by some alien creature's claw lie on his face, going from the bottom right to the top left. Abilities: Because he is a general, Arman is a very good strategist and leader. He is also very strong and skilled at combat, as well as tough, due to his power armour. Personality: General Arman is a very unyielding but stubborn man, never giving up doing something. He is also very honest, although this can sometimes result in poor social interaction with others, most notably General Katie Anderson, who is often irritated by what he says or does. Equipment: Power armor, two-handed sword made out of Slaosten, a wormhole travel-resistant material that is an alloy of steel, cosmoynite and broysium. Background: After being reunited with his former rival, General Katie Anderson, the two found a crash-landed Khaganate ship, and used some of its parts to build a pod to escape the planet that they were stranded on. While they initially thought that they were going to die in outer space as they saw the Khaganate fleet had disappeared, they were saved by the KSS Atlas, and are now aboard that ship.
