Lhoris had a reputation for being distant, and for being snappy, even amongst the Urban-raised Elves and Fae in her own sorority. She wouldn't say she is either of these things. Her interests simply don't include drinking heavily, or trying to shout a conversation over the blaring music in a basement party somewhere. She's more interested in traditional elven pastimes like painting and woodcraft. She tries to be friendly and polite whilst having no tolerance for rudeness. It is simply a pity that her definitions of friendliness and rudeness are...Elven. Do not call her by nicknames. Do not touch her or get too close without permission if you are not family, and do not be put out if she addresses you with a calm, cold, aloof manner as opposed to the warmer and more enthusiastic Human approach to friendliness. Follow these rules and you will find yourself with a steady, dependable friend.[/indent][/indent]

Lhoris' mother was a second generation Elf, born a second class citizen and seeing signs everywhere she looked, from her inability to vote, to lasting grudges and prejudices from the Humans and Orcs who remembered the war, or those who were raised by those who did. She was 'rescued' by Lhoris' father; an Elf from the old would, who carried with him knowledge of the traditional Elvish beliefs, arts and practices. Love quickly blossomed, and for the first time, this lonely Elf was proud of her race and her heritage. Over time she grew to be enthusiastic about her roots, and then...zealous.

This was the household in which Lhoris was born and raised. She spent her first sixteen years of life in a cottage built at the edge of a woodland, living as close to an old world Elf's life as was possible in 80's and 90's America (Pop music and Nintendo were as big parts of her childhood as bows, magic and panpipes were). She was home schooled, but while her dad focused on giving her a complete traditional Elf education, her mom wanted her to learn exactly what any state schooled human would. Her mom didn't just want Lhoris to be a true Elf, she wanted her to be successful in this world now that it was possible for an Elf to do so. Now she is in College to fulfill both her own dreams, and the wishes of her parents.[/indent][/indent]

Lhoris' familiar is a grey squirrel named Eldred. It is a very obedient and intelligent creature, and can understand English and Elvish, though obviously cannot respond.
