All Charity Spencer knew was that it was Wednesday morning, it was pitch black, and it was most likely not the safest time for two teenage girls to be walking from the dock to Beverly Hills. On top of that, Pamela was rather heavy, being largely unable to stand up using her own motor control. Thus, Charity had to walk for both of them. It did not help that Panda kept muttering semi-incoherent sentences about genitalia and intercourse, though not in as delicate terms as those. When Charity looked into her sister's eyes, it was obvious that she was not merely drunk from alcohol. Charity loved her sister, and had the patience of a saint, but tonight she was grinding painfully against the line that Panda should never cross. She was dangerously close to crossing it and ending up in the danger zone. Nevertheless, two hours later, Panda had been dumped on her own bed, their parents were none the wiser, and a painfully sober Charity, too annoyed to sleep, opened up her laptop and started to type.
Charity felt the complete opposite way the next morning, as she was dropped off along with her incredibly hungover sister. They had both sat in the back, in total silence, and the silence persisted for a few seconds after their mom drove off. Charity was the first to break it. "Sister, I'm sorry that you got all the punishment for something that we both did. I shouldn't have kept quiet about it..." "Are you kidding me?" croaked Panda, managing a smile as she fixed her bloodshot eyes on her little sis. "Our parents would have a goddamn heart attack if they learned you'd been to a party! Things are better this way, trust me. We're getting to the age when not telling our parents what we're up to isn't dishonest. It's protecting them." Charity nodded, and returned an appreciative smile, but secretly wasn't convinced. "Anyway," she started. "We'd better get to class or we'll be late!" "Oh no! We can't be late! Anything but that!" Panda chuckled sarcastically before pulling Charity into a hug. "You go on ahead. I really need to sober up first." Panda watched Charity head into school before she pulled out her mobile. No. Of course drunk her didn't put in any numbers. She'd just have wait for Camille or Marina to finish their classes, then try and find them. She had concerns regarding last night and she needed to talk to both of them. Surely one of them would remember if any protection was used...
Charity's first class was mathematics, which had been painless. After that, she had handed in her finished article covering both parties to to Newspaper Club office. Trixie would read it later. That was one weight off her mind. Now she had a new mission. The only problem was that she didn't know where to start. The Football Team was something of a Clique. She couldn't exactly go up to one of them and ask for help dishing dirt on Trent. Maybe it would be better to ask somebody else from the the group of Churchgoers. After all, it is to protect one of our own against somebody who's committing grave sins. On the other hand, who was close to Trent, who wouldn't take his side over Miriam's if they learned that Matthew was gay? Of course. They didn't have to be close to Trent. They just had to be better at dishing dirt than Charity was. It would be a bonus if they would have a personal interest in a case of a boy blackmailing a closeted homosexual and his sister, and a desire to see Trent's head on a metaphorical pike. And if they were already familiar to Charity so she wouldn't have to introduce herself with a request to possibly ruin the reputation of a Football player...that would be good too. Maybe somebody from the Newspaper Club itself. That's when the idea came to her; Jamie Callaghan!
