Once they got bounties of their own and taking the criminals in themselves stopped working, they had other people deliver the criminals to the Marines. If they caught the people while they were terrorizing an individual or community, then they would request they take them in. They would trust that the people would at most give them the Beli or at least feed them for the night. (They were pretty poor) It also didn't help that they'd almost always waste their money on gambling or alcohol. But they both know how to live off the land. Most of their food came from hunting which is part of how Eadgar is a skilled tracker. Also, if they caught a criminal and they couldn't find someone to turn them in then the pair would try to take the criminals in themselves and a majority of the time would have to fight their way out.
