Walking to the the board that connected the ship to the dock Pyce looked out into the port scanning the merchants, women and children, and fishermen going about their daily routines. To the others walking off the boat the board was just that; however, to Pyce it was the doorway into his next life. One he would try to live for as long as he could. Taking a deep breath and hiking his bag up onto his shoulder Pyce says quietly to himself “A new chapter” as he took his first step onto the board making his way down to the dock and walking into the port. Within the port Pyce would tug his scarf to ensure the coastal wind would not blow it away and continued inward heading into the market. Stopping at the occasional vendor inspecting the merchandise being sold he found what he was looking for: a refreshing fruit to eat for lunch. After paying for his peaches Pyce would find a place to sit and enjoy the fruit in the shade.
