[@Balthazar007]so... I'm wondering about how you want us to structure the language acquisition of pokemon. My headcannon from the show and games is that pokemon can learn to understand humans quite well, but not the other way around. I feel like depending on the exposure pokemon have had, they can understand humans more or less. so for example, i thought since the starters were bred and in labs they'd have some more training from aides and be better accustomed to human speech. i would think that wild pokemon would have difficulty understanding humans, unless they've been exposed to humans previous. i also think urban pokemon in cities and such would probably have much better understanding of human speech. I was going back through the posts and noticed the professor used hand symbols with Hawka... should indigo use those hand signals in his posts as well? I could imply somewhere that the professor maybe uploaded some kind of communication guide or something in their pokedexes...? Just trying to stay consistent with posts and world building! little stuff like this can cause plotholes and confusion from my end if I'm not careful xD
