He loves to meet new people, help the needy of all walks of life and travel where he deems he is most needed. The man is known to be motivating, charming and overly optimistic. He sees the good in the ugly and the better in the bad. He possesses a variety of skills and talents - all diverse and ultimately useful. His tone of voice alone is his niche. He believes in the teaching of God (written in the Bible) and does his best to reflect upon his learnings. He is respectful, courteous and friendly - traits he acquired from the church. Robert is also very progressive, he strives to the top and enjoys the journey it takes to get there. He is dedicated to a plan of action and will execute it to the utmost degree. He bounces back quickly from any uncertainty or obstacles that get in his way - the reason this new world has yet to break him. Robert is known for gaining understanding in many communities due to his ability to listen and understand the views of others. He genuinely cares for anything that breathes and attempts to do everything in his power to provide to their needs. However, at the end of the day he is only human and is connected to God by his own will. God cried at the realization that his angels were now restless, being awakened by human's own damnation. The dead roamed the streets to strip the souls of living men - from both the innocent and the guilty. Robert remained indoors during the initial breakout, preparing, questioning and finding his own answers to this catastrophe. It was his opinion that humankind did this to themselves, forcing their Father to cleanse his Earth from the horrors it withstood. However, Robert did not realize the true effect of Armageddon until a knock game at his door. Rushing out of his chair, Robert was quick to answer. He opened the front door to his single story home and allowed his faith to take the wheel. Outside his home stood a frail woman carrying a child that had been bitten by one of the demons that roamed the night. The two strangers hurried inside, rushing to the kitchen as Robert's wife grabbed the only first aid kit and called for an ambulance. The bite was carnivorous, as though a fierce animal had attacked the poor boy. Robert used all the equipment he had in attempt to stop the bleeding from the boy's shoulder, but it appeared helpless - the boy would die. "Shhh shh shh. Relax son, just calm down. Shhh shh shh, it's okay, it's okay. You're flying with the angels now son, you don't have to deal with this world anymore. You already won. You've already beat it. It's time to go home now." At exactly 8:36PM, Julio (the eight year old boy) passed away. Tears and prayers were expressed in his name as his body was covered on the dinning table - awaiting the arrival of the EMTs. It only took minutes for his body to reanimate and it was a nightmare for everyone under the Weldon roof. "My baby!" the mother called out, rushing to the waking body. Robert immediately felt his body tense and his his widen - but he knew this was no miracle. "Wait!" he called out to the woman, but it had been too late. Through the covers the body gnawed at his mother, forcefully digging his little teeth through her left forearm. The woman's scream was terrifying, like a shriek from a dying fox. Her body immediately went limp and fell to backwards onto the hardwood floor. Robert's wife Laiyla yelled out in fear as she cupped her screams with her hands. Robert appeared frozen for a second, his eyes pinpointed on the boy that moaned their way, still covered by the bed sheet that put him to rest. "Robert do something!" With haste, Robert rushed past the boy and into the bedroom where he unlocked his loaded handgun. He turned around to find Julio had followed him. "I wish I could have done more. May you find peace now." History Before Outbreak: Born and raised in the drought of Atlanta, Georgia, Robert Weldon quickly became a man of hope. His single mother Minerva Weldon was a woman of the church. The two of them spent many days at the church and were very dedicated members. Robert recalls wearing his little suit, but always rebelled by putting on sneakers - because the 'nice shoes' hurt his feet. During times of high crime, murder and injustice, the church was the only place that felt safe. The comforting community was like a family, full of people that cared for one another and were brought together by a simple message - love. Throughout his childhood, Robert had no issues making friends. He was a king soul and liked to help were he could. He did great in school, did his chores at home and was a very disciplined young man. Unfortunately during this time, being black appeared as a crime to Universities. Despite his amazing grades in high school and all of his community service hours, Robert did not receive a scholarship to any college. His desire for education ended after senior year as furthering education was to expensive and exorbitant. Robert lost his mother at the age of twenty six. She passed away peacefully and of natural causes. The church through a fundraiser to pay for her funeral and Robert will never let that memory go. After his mother's passing the neighborhood took a turn for the worse. Gang activity in downtown Atlanta started rising drastically. Shootings at schools, robberies and murder no longer appeared as breaking news, but daily occurrences. These uncertain times forced Robert to use his hard earned money to purchase a firearm. He took classes in self defense every other month because he feared that one day a situation would occur where he'd need those skills. Robert felt as though the government overlooked black communities like his because of current racial tension and overall lack of interest. The government would rather put money where they'll make money than help fix a community that they deem will never triumph. In any case, Robert didn't allow these events to get in the way of his daily routine. He would wake up every morning with a three mile jog, have his breakfast (typically eggs and bacon with some sourdough bread), go to work form 8am to 5pm at Home Depot, come home to watch some television and spend time with his wife before dinner, then bed. During his lunch breaks at work, he would take a bus to the church and spend time with the people there, sometimes even giving speeches to cheer up and give hope to those that needed it. At work he was known as the magic-speaker - a man with the capabilities to decrease tension and bring a diplomatic view to all customer and non-customer problems. At home, Robert was a good husband but could always be better. He sometimes found himself neglecting his wife because he was so worked up about the world and looked for solutions on how to help it. Laiyla however loved and supported Robert in everything he did. She was the only thing Robert could not fail because she did not allow him to do so. She is the love of his life. History Since Outbreak: After his initial encounter with the dead, Robert decided that it was best to leave Atlanta and find safe haven among other survivors. The situation in the city had become chaotic as the dead population increased overnight. His plans to escape however were ruined by the military outpost guarding the city limits. The doctors there were under strict disease preventing protocols and had to check every single individual for signs of infection before giving the clear to move out of the city. These doctors were not checking individuals upon arrival, but rather women and children first. This game-plan structure caused an abundance of chaos as families became split up. In addition, communication lines were down - cellphones and telephones had no service. Robert insisted that Laiyla go through the checkup and get out of the city, that he would follow suit. It took convincing, but she finally caved to his decision. Laiyla was able to cross the military barrier and get out of Atlanta. She would be taken to Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. Little did Robert know he would not see Laiyla again. Hours after Laiyla's leave, the military outpost was attacked by the dead. A horde of them came from the city and was able to overrun the station. Robert's attempt to cross and reach his wife were declined. The armed forces were taken down within minutes as disarray commenced amid the many left in Atlanta. Everyone was now on their own, people started shooting people thinking they were the dead. It was a blood bath, but God stood by Robert's side. Robert was able to free himself from the gore that stripped men of their humanity. He rushed back into the city with other survivors he was able to save. They rushed to the church Robert when to as a kid - a sanctuary for the poor and the rich. He was able to find others waiting for him there, humans to fortify their harbor from the incoming wave of unfortunate events. Weeks passed before Robert was given the courage to walk the world once again. During the weeks at the church, he helped by keeping the peace, using the bible as his broker to find common ground. He and others were in charge of going outside the church walls and find food, water and medicine for the other survivors - but they would not go further than a two mile radius, it just wasn't safe. Robert's courage and optimism did not return to him until he understood that the world could no longer hurt him. He had faith that his wife was still out there and realized there was nothing to stop him. God gave him the tools and the strength to defeat the dead, so he now wanders in search of his wife and to help other survivors in need. He only kills the dead when he has to, using his hardwood dowel for silence.
