Sasuke and Naruto were very unbalanced as you said. One admires the other too much, and the other is jealous and doesn't seem eager to admit what great Naruto has done. I think they both compare themselves to the other too much and that could just drag down their own personal progress. 

Naruto's support was great to see. Jiraiya is another favorite of mine as well. I feel like if Sasuke had accepted Kakashi's help sooner, maybe Sasuke wouldn't have felt a need to leave and would have had a better life in Konoha, rather than go after his revenge.
