The great drawbridge of Friendship City lowered before Spark revealing the crumbling remains of the once impressive Manehatten. The giant, grey, monolith like sky scrapers rose into the sky separated only by the shadowy streets running between them. Spark felt the cart she was in begin to move with a jerk. The sudden movement alone caused her to squeak in surprise as she stared wide eyed at the concrete jungle before her. It was like a giant beast, drawing her towards it and the maze of streets it’s maw ready to swallow her up never to be seen again. For a moment she felt the urge to jump from the cart and run back to the safety of the clinic. As it drew nearer and nearer the now open gate the urge only grew. Around her, the other ponies on the cart began to give her strange looks as she grew increasingly nervous. Their stares did little to quell the panic building up inside her and she instead clamped her eyes shut shutting out the world all together. Breathing deeply she focused on the other sounds around her, the sound of talking, the quiet lapping of the water and ripple of the wind on her cloak. At last the panic subsided somewhat and she let out a final shaky breath before opening her eyes again. The Friendship City drawbridge was behind them now, already being raised up to seal itself once more from the dangerous world outside. A world Spark now found herself in. She peered up at the buildings that now towered above her in equal parts fear and wonder. It didn’t seem possible that this place had been built by ponies! Still trying to keep herself distracted from thoughts of the many dangers around her, Spark tried to spot Sound but couldn’t make him out amongst the other watchful guards that surrounded them. With a whine, she again turned back to Friendship City. The home she’d known for so long was gradually disappearing from view behind the dilapidated shells of burnt out, cracked buildings. She fought her way more upright to get one final glance at the torch before it became lost behind the taller buildings. At last, with a miserable sigh, Spark pulled her hood further over her face and hugged her saddlebags close to her.
