You can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords, scholars, and merchant princes, to name a few, might be interested in hearing about your distant homeland and people. Background: Ethan Bradford came to Frontier town to begin anew. A blank slate where no one could or would recognize him. He didn't want to do so, but he had no choice. In the distant lands of his former home, he was recognized as a fugitive and would be arrested and put to death on sight. Things weren't always like this in Ethan's life. He was once a simple laborer in the distant town of Hollis in the far western fringes of the Evergreen Empire. Life was rarely easy on him, even at the beginning of his life he struggled as even his parents did not want him. Though at least they left him in the care of the local orphanage, only leaving behind a wooden name plate with the name 'Ethan' hastily scrawled onto it and a small pouch containing a small number of copper coins. It was there Ethan learned the values that would shape him into the man that he was in the future as well as his skill in playing the flute gifted to him. His hard-working and good character earned him the respect of his fellow workers and his contractors. His humble wages went to help support the orphanage that had took him in and raised him, he was grateful for their kindness and effort to raise him and the other abandoned children well. Things were going fine until a lesser noble took interest in purchasing the land the orphanage stood upon. Probably to build something selfish and idiotic like a statue dedicated to himself. The noble would not listen to reason and was blinded by his narcissism and false sense of grandeur. Claiming that the orphanage was a minor sacrifice needed for the settlement to even grasp a sliver of his greatness. Their cries for justice were left unanswered and Ethan was forced to take matters into his own hands. He was only there to scare the noble to stop...he never intended things to get so bad. It was an accident. Ethan never wanted to kill that man. Ethan couldn't stay in town. If he did, he would only put those who would hide him in danger. He cared for them too much to endanger them so recklessly. He was forced to abandon his friends and family. He gathered all his few belongings and left on the same night. It took him nearly two weeks of travel to finally reach his destination and hopefully a new life. [/hider]
