He used his phone as a torch but in reality he had walked the way a billion times before and could quite easily make it there without issue. He entered the darkened room to find only a flashing light on his desk phone. At the press of the button he found himself listening to an offer for his business. He moved to the fax machine and caught sight of a recent print out, presumably coming out just before the power died. He scanned through the multiple pages of the document under the light of his phone for a while, before coming across the offer. He laughed to himself, finding the offer shocking but it wasn't the value, it was the fact that someone had wanted to buy the club. In all the time he had owned it nobody had shown any interest. He continued to read through the rest of the document before slotting it away in his desk. I don't want to sell... he thought to himself. This place is my second home, the couch turns into a double bed for Christs sake. I mean it couldn't hurt to listen to what they have to say but in the same breath i'd only be wasting their time. He twiddled his thumbs for a while before opening his laptop up. He quickly scanned the battery in the lower corner of the screen, seeing a most wonderful 84%. He connected his phone to charge it up and began to surf the internet. In the years he had successfully run the club, he had never contemplated the idea of expanding. This message and offer he had received had now firmly implanted the idea in his head. He began to view vacant buildings of all shapes and sizes across the length and breadth of Sol City, ideas for styling and themes racing through his head with each new building. After a crazed half hour of day dreaming he decided to throw caution to the wind. He took the document back out from his drawer and began to type up an e-mail response.
TO: elvin.santos@esholdings.com CC: none Subject: Proposal for Club Aether Dear Mr Santos I would like to thank you for your offer, it truly was a surprise. It was especially surprising given the current weather situation the city is going through. I hope you and your staff are well during this rather extraordinary situation. However I will get straight to the point, I have no interest in selling Club Aether. It turns a very healthy profit but more than that it is something that I put a lot of time and effort into. The emotional attachment I have to the club is far beyond any monetary figure that you could offer. However, I do have a counter offer if you would be interested. Club Aether has always been my main and central focus, but after hearing your offer it has opened up trails of thought I had never considered before. I have proven myself capable of setting up a successful and now established business in what is sometimes a difficult sector. What I offer to you is a potential partnership on a new venture, something that could turn some of the more run down parts of Sol City into much more desireable locations. If you would like to arrange a meeting then feel free to suggest a time and date as I am usually able to make time. I look forward to hearing back from you. Kind Regards Leo Sullivan Owner of Club Aether
With the e-mail sent Leo turned his laptop around and used the screen to illuminate the kitchen in his office. He scrambled through cupboards and began to throw together various bits, setting about the creation of something to keep his guests fed. Jesus Christ 😂 Then again, last time I was in there I did see a rather nice jacket lol. I promise that no wench shall don that shirt! I will fight them all off and if they overwhelm me I shall sacrifice Marcus to the cause 😂 xx
