The disrespect from you colonists! The English motherland, of course! Rule Britannia and all that, eh old chap?’ Aaaah~ She got that one. She had to clap a hand over her mouth to keep her giggles from disturbing the class. Not that it had started yet. Just, she did not want to draw too much attention to herself. A couple of moments later she calmed herself and sighed, hoping to not fall into another fit of giggles. The mirth still lived on her face, curving one of the corners of her lips upwards and brown eyes glistening with tears. ‘Hopped the pond last Friday. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get out of the first few weeks just cause we moved, so now I’m here on the first day. Speaking of my first day, any more tips for the newbie? And speaking of making friends- not that I’m dropping you or anything- but are there any of your mates that you think would hang out with my type?’ She listened attentively to his story, leaning into her arms. She hadn't really met anyone from 'across the pond' before. Maybe once or twice. It was fascinating and she hoped to learn a lot from him. He was also kind enough to reassure her that his question didn't mean her abandonment. What would that trope be called? The sweet bad boy? She couldn't remember, she'd have to ask Johnny about it later. She was considering how to answer his questions when he leaned close. His breath moved her hair and tickled her ear. ‘Everyone here looks a little too preppy for me.' As he moved back from her she pressed a hand against her ear and her face turned from happy contentment to one of complete and utter wide-eyed shock. Once again she blushed, this time much more furiously. One could practically see the steam coming from her head. She opened her mouth to say something but nothing happened and she glanced about worriedly. People just didn't get that close. She didn't know how to handle it. She turned away from him for a moment and pressed her hands into her face. Breathe. Breathe. She didn't want to worry him so she peeked shyly back through her hands. "S-sorry..." she managed. He had been saying something else to her but it had been lost completely in her moment of panic. Her heart raced wildly and she was shaking. "Uhm... I'm not used to... I don't mean..." What the hell did she mean? Her brain had stopped and it felt like an old computer trying to reboot complete with AOL online dial-up noises. "You smell nice." With another few shaky breaths she lowered her hands but the blush and worried frown didn't leave her face. "Uhm... I think the kind of people you might like would be the misfits. Self-named. Aptly so. My best friend since we were babies is one of them. His name is Jun. Archer and Marisol are in the back there." She gestured lightly toward them. "Archer is nice. He tells a lot of jokes, though I don't get most of them. Uhmm... I don't think Marisol likes me. But you might get along well with her." She offered him a small nervous smile as she noticed Johnny enter the room. Something like relief came over her face to see a familiar person. "Oh hey Johnny. I didn't know it was you." She said, trying to smile but her face felt all hot and her head felt all stupid. She hoped he would get the movie reference. Maybe that would make her feel better. Her right hand began to tap against her thigh.
