Probably speaking of Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS. It is quite an enjoyable anime. Certainly has the three episode rule hook down. Middle of the season drags a bit in too much political talk. It's also basically one of the very few pieces of art I've consumed that give the villains plot armor which can become frustrating. But it's one of the only Mecha I've seen in a while that I've thoroughly enjoyed the ride. You also don't need to know anything about the rest of the series to watch/enjoy it as far as I'm aware.
