[indent]Axl stands at roughly 5’7” tall and 165lbs. He has a lean, yet muscular build, and an overall athletic body. As one might expect, this is quite ideal and likely has been built up from years of his own adventuring and fun, prior to his convincing his parents to allow him to go out on a pokemon journey. You’re unlikely to see him without his hat either on, or attached at the hip, if it’s not hanging from his bag.[/indent]

[indent]Axl is an adventurous person with a very engaging personality. He is strong-willed and kind hearted, with a good head on his shoulders. At least, to an extent. The fact is, he can be a bit reckless and rash, always quick to jump without thinking of how exactly he’s going to land. That is to say, he doesn’t really think things all the way through. He may be quick to make friends and quicker to jump in to help somebody, but that doesn’t mean he’ll actually be able to help himself get out of any trouble he may have gotten himself into. 

Apart from that, Axl has something of a big brother personality. If you’re younger, weaker, frailer, or just seem like you might need a hand, he’s quick to offer it and protect it. He’s also quick to give “parently” advice and warnings and any other manner of encouragement. [color=red]”I believe in you!” “Did you eat today?” “Are you alright?” “Need a hand?” “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away!” “Make sure you take your medicine! It’s like a preemptive strike on sickness!”[/color] (Those are just a few to give an idea.)

Even so, for all his care and coolheadedness, you can see a completely different side of him if you mess with his friends or family. He’ll charge right on, like a bat on a hell, out for blood against somebody if he feels they deserve it.[/indent]

[color=red][b]Background:[/b][/color] 
[indent]Axl was born in Pureplain City to parent who’d been ready to settle down after years of adventure and travel. At least, one of them was. After having settled in the fairly normal, his mother and father built a life for themselves. However, the mundanity of their day to day lives became quite boring for his father. The man couldn’t take it anymore. He lived for adventure. And so, one night, when Axl was about four years old, he left. 

The loss of his father hit Axl and mother pretty hard. She became a bit bitter and began to hate even the notion of the adventurous life she’d left behind. He got over it in time, but as the years went by he found himself more and more enthralled by the idea of going out on his own journey. He made friends all over the city, always being one to lead games and have fun here and there. His mother threw herself in her work, occasionally scolding him as he grew older and attempted to convince her to allow him to leave on a Pokemon journey. 

In time, as he grew older and more capable of handling various situations and keeping himself safe, to an extent at least, Axl made it clear to his mother that though he wanted her blessing, one way or another he’d be heading off. It was likely his curiosity, his charisma, and his need to go out and explore that helped Professor Kalmia to choose him as one of the trainers to give a pokedex to. Though it took some time to convince his mother and he is heading out a bit older than he initially may have wanted, Axl is more than ready to head out into the world on his own. Who knows what surprises may await him.[/indent]

[indent][color=red]“I love all Pokemon! Fire, Water, Grass, Ghost! All of them! They can all be pretty cool and awesome. [s]Unless they’re slimes…[/s] But beyond that, my favorites are my pokemon.”[/color][/indent]

[indent][list][*]Although it is unlikely that Axl would ever admit this, he secretly wants to find his father. He doesn’t know what he’ll say or do when he meets him, but it is a want of his.
[*]Axl is a great dancer, which has given him pretty good control of his body. 
[*]Axl is terrified of slimes. Like from games, and most pokemon who are too similar. This is only applied to those who look like straight slimes/blob monsters. No idea why. 
[*]Even if it’s not usually his first choice of action, if it can be helped, Axl is a pretty good fighter. He has no real formal training. Mostly just a brawler with some martial arts influences. [s]I’m not expecting this to matter much.[/s][/list] [/indent]
