Her jet black hair is cut into a stylish round bob with a middle parting, which puts her large forehead in full view. [indent]Mari hasn't always lived in Kurosuoba, having just moved from her birthplace in Tokyo after her last year of middle school. Her family's financial situation has been quite well off her entire life, but to say that she is happy with her home life would be far from the truth. Even now her mum remains relatively detached from her daughter and husband, often working into the night and taking very few days off. Mari's dad was basically the only present parental figure during her childhood, and despite also working long hours as a high school teacher he always made sure to make time for his daughter; but an unfortunate car accident that occurred on the day of Mari's middle school graduation has left him recovering in hospital far from her current home ever since. Although her mum is beginning to make more of an appearance in her life, the Tsukimi household remains as lonely and quiet as it had always been, with added tensions between Mari and her mum now that circumstances are bringing them together.[/indent]

[indent]If there's one thing Mari wants to do, it's to [i]change[/i]. To be more friendly, more patient, less impulsive and brash, and perhaps more accepting of others and herself. [i]To love and be loved[/i]. Mari hasn't had the best school life experiences, and as a result is hoping to improve herself to make sure she doesn't fall into a deep hole of self loathing and unhappiness again. She's had enough of the solitude and tragedy, and so Mari has made a resolve to live these next three years to their fullest, to leave her past behind and start over in this new rural city of unfamiliar faces. For a brighter future, Mari will do whatever it takes.

But putting on the face of a confident and charismatic young girl while hiding the anger and insecurity building up within her can only take her so far.
