Aiden Cross
After he witnessed the club president showcase his abilities, Aiden was no doubt intrigued. The mere thought of everyone in this room possessing some sort of mystical power baffled him. Although many of the things Saito had said did worry worry him, Aiden was honestly mostly looking forward to seeing what power he and everyone else would get. He looked around the room to see if anyone was going to go up and collect their talisman first. When no one seemed to move, Aiden raised from his seat before being interrupted half way by a girl who got up a second before him. He was left in an awkward air chair position then slumped back comfortably into his seat. Despite his eagerness, he stayed seated and waited his turn. While tapping his foot in anticipation he watched the pretty girl with raven hair find and use her talisman. When the girl activated her powers he watched in amazement as the azure flames emerged from her hand. He still couldn’t wrap his head around all this. He found himself so caught up staring at how the flames swayed that he forgot to get his own talisman. Another girl with a smile as pure as gold got up and got a talisman before him. Aiden once again waited. When she was done, Aiden shot up from his chair, making sure no one got up before him and bounded towards the stack of talisman. His talisman sat at the top of the pile waiting for him to collect it. He picked it up and flipped it over. His eyes eagerly skimmed the text: Long ago, the daughter of an onmyoji alchemist carried on her deceased father’s legacy by drinking a brew she received from him. The brew gave her the ability to alter the characteristics and properties of inanimate objects that she touches. Her descendants were called the onmyodo family and were thought of as superior beings thanks to the extrordiary power of their ability that passed through generations. However, the further down the genetic line you go the less common it became to have this power in your blood. Nowadays almost all of the onmyodo no longer possess this power and those who do usually don’t realise it. He guessed his ablility had something to do with altering things. Aiden grabbed a pin and winced as it pierced his finger’s skin. He followed Saito’s instructions and placed the talisman on his chest using the pierced finger. A foreshock shivered through his body before an electrifying sensation jolted through where the talisman was pressed to his chest. The feeling waxed and each jolt traveled further and further. It felt like a bad itch that you just couldn’t scratch. Aiden found himself slightly shaking when the itch turned to a light burn. His heart beat increased as the shocks grew in power. He took in a shallow breath and was about to break a sweat until it was suddenly over. Aside from the lingering tingling feeling, he felt no different. Just severely discomforted. He looked down at his free hand and everything seemed normal there. He still the same five fingers and palm. Confusion swept over Aiden. Wasn’t this supposed to be more eventful? Why hasn’t he felt anything? He removed the talisman and put it in his free left hand to examine it. Once the talisman and his left hand made contact, the talisman suddenly became nearly as heavy as a brick. “Woah!” Aiden exclaimed as he nearly dropped the talisman. He readjusted his handling to accumulate the extra weight. Aiden furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and pursed his lips. “What’s going on... Did I do that?” He raised his eyebrows and stared at the talisman with glossy bewilderment as his lips parted slightly. He did that.
