Don't panic. There could be a million reasons why there wasn't an answer. He could be in the house, or somewhere else where he wouldn't be able to hear her shout. For all she knew, although the limo was here it could be entirely possible that he wasn't even on the estate. He could have gotten another ride and left the place, sent a text message to Zoie and she just didn't have the connection to see it. Then he'd show up later and get a slap in the face for worrying everyone. Don't panic. He could even be just on the other side of the building and simply couldn't hear her over the very loud fire. But he could still be in that building. Mali was still not dressed to be rushing into a burning building, and fire was indeed scary, so she still wasn't going to charge headfirst into that building unless all the other sensible options were eliminated first. Don't panic. Mali ran around the building staying as close as she could to the building while remaining a safe distance away from the flames. She was looking for anything: Marc himself, perhaps an open window that let her see into the barn that wasn't entirely blocked by fire, something other than just a burning building.
