MORNING, SPRING, YEAR 845[/color][hr][/right][indent]Tanner ran as fast as she could; her tight grip hanging on to the girl she had just saved. Perhaps playing the role of the hero was a terrible decision, yet Tanner held a strong belief that she could not abandon someone in need. Regardless of who this exotic-looking girl was, or where she came from, she was still–first and foremost–human. It would be wrong to say that Tanner wasn't afraid, much like the entirety of the Shiganshina populace, but by the Walls be damned, lives were worth saving.

[color=crimson][b]"I'm so sorry..."[/b][/color]

A meek reply came from behind Tanner, who had begun to slow her hasty retreat. The girl had sounded lost, as if her thoughts were jumbled and elsewhere. It seemed the events of now were difficult to process for her, just as they were for Tanner, and probably the rest of Shiganshina–at least for those still alive.

Turning to face the girl, Tanner placed a gentle grip upon both of her shoulders. [color=#FFD967][b]"Listen,"[/b][/color] Tanner spoke, [color=#FFD967][b]"You have no reason to apologize. All I need you to do is stay alive. I'm sure your... [i]ahem[/i], mother would prefer you to keep living too."[/b][/color]

Was bringing up fresh memories so early the best option? Probably not, but Tanner needed to talk some sense into the girl. The blonde Shiganshina native was still trying to stomach the death of her own parents, yet she preferred to stay alive, just as she was keen enough to not let her companion fall to the same fate.

The short time allotted for a pep talk was quickly extinguished upon a nearby scream. Her body tensed, each muscle locking up as Tanner gazed in horror. Titans had been flooding into the district since the breach, yet Tanner underestimated how quickly they would overwhelm the Garrison forces in Shiganshina. Throughout the carnage, her eyes centered on [url=https://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/4682191]a blonde, who couldn't have been any older than Tanner or the girl she saved.[/url] The boy kicked and screamed, desperately trying to fight the grasp the titan held, yet his struggles were in vain as the titan shredded his body through its squalid jaws.

Refusing to be the next meal for the menacing beast, Tanner snatched the wrist of the girl once again and sprinted off towards where the docks would be. The boats, as well the fleeing crowd that surrounded them, were finally in sight. 

For now, it was only a matter if Tanner and the girl would reach them before the titans.[/indent]
