Before the 'incident', Fredrick was a tall and lean man with chestnut brown hair, bright green eyes, fair skin, and faint freckles on his nose. Due to needing to keep up good public relations, Captain Quantum puts on the front of being an upstanding, optimistic and all American boy scout; the textbook definition of a superhero. He is kind to any and all civilians (even those that are rude to him), and always requests that his enemies stand down before a fight (after all, he doesn't [i]want[/i] to hurt them). In short, he's all about preserving the American lifestyle in the most family friendly way possible.

However, when he has time to himself, Fredrick is introverted and contemplative. When interacting with people, Fredrick is polite and reserved, being more of a listener than he is a talker, but always chiming in when he feels the need. Though not bitter about his new form, he often finds himself pondering it, and also wonders how and why he survived the 'incident'. Simply put, Fredrick is a kind and mellow person who reflects upon himself and his life frequently.

Fredrick uses a specialized suit to survive, which is known as the 'Dilustel Shell'. It is strong, [i]very[/i] strong, allowing Frederick to lift up to one thousand tons without breaking a sweat... A few well-placed punches from someone with ultra level super strength could crack it open, and if it cracks, then Fredrick will need to return to concentrating on keeping himself from fading into nothing.

Due to being made of pure energy, Fredrick needs the Dilustel Shell to survive. Without it, he would be required to focus on keeping his body in a stable condition at all times, lest he scatter and fade out of existence. Crack or even destroy the shell, and Fredrick would be screwed until a new one could be made.
Also, without the suit he is prone to 'flair-ups', discharges of energy which disintegrate any organic matter within a 30 meter radius. In addition, if someone or something were to touch him whilst he was outside of the suit or vice versa, then that person/thing would disintegrate.

[b]Character History/Origin:[/b]
Fredrick Allen Nathaniel Curie III was born on October 23rd, 1985 to a soldier and his wife. He was named after his father and grandfather, and belonged to a long line of soldiers; his father had fought in Russia, his grandfather had fought in Vietnam, his great grandfather had fought in World War II, and so on. It was expected that Fredrick would carry on the tradition, and he didn't disappoint.

At the age of 18, Fredrick enlisted in the army, shipping out to Bangladesh upon completing training in 2003. Towards the end of his first tour of duty, Fredrick was injured whilst carrying two wounded comrades to cover, still getting them to safety and tending to their wounds with what little he could use. For this, he was awarded with the Distinguished Service Cross, in addition to being promoted to Sergeant.

During his second tour of duty, Fredrick was awarded with the Medal of Honor after dispatching a suicide bomber, preventing the bomb from going off and killing dozens. He finished his second tour of duty in 2009, and continued to work with the military, being at the rank of Captain in 2020. With the arrival of Lady Arcana and other powered individuals, the military felt the need to create their own supersoldier in the case that any of them decide to fly down, tear off the roof of the white house, and grab the president from the oval office. That was the birth of CADMUS, and Project: Achilles Heel.

The first attempt was a failure, the subject going rogue and becoming the megalomaniac "hero" Bang. The government and CADMUS chose to revise Achilles Heel for their second attempt, this time limiting the list of potential subjects to top military officers only. Fredrick volunteered to undergo the procedure, willing to do whatever it took to defend his country. On February 7th, 2021, he underwent the procedure.

A funeral was held the day after. There was nothing to bury.

On October 17th, 2021, all the power went out in the CADMUS facility before turning back on a few minutes later with no explanation. This was the first and so far only time this has happened.

On August 3rd, 2023, what appeared to be a floating cluster of blue electricity appeared in the room where Captain Curie disintegrated. It was in a constant state of fluctuation, appearing to take on the form of a face several times, before releasing a massive wave of quantum energy that disintegrated all organic matter within a thirty meter radius of it. It vanished shortly after. Fortunately for CADMUS, the only casualties were security guards, as it was late at night, however a fair amount of DNA samples and the like were lost.

On February 6th, 2026, a booming voice was heard throughout the facility. [color=darkorange][b]"I think. Therefore, I am."[/b][/color]

Captain Quantum was born on February 7th, 2026. He rose from the Empty and took control of the Dilustel Shell, becoming the government's own superhero. His handlers are currently in talks to get him onto the Justice League.

To those who knew him, the Question is now much more different than the man he once was. Gone are the days when he would spout wacky conspiracy theories or pose philosophical questions to his enemies; now, he has become a cold and deadly stalker of the night, eliminating all who prey upon the weak. When he does speak to people, be it allies or enemies, it's almost always cryptic statements that are barely coherent to anyone but him stated in a dead monotone. Overall, it's quite safe to assume that the Question is... Not in the best state of mind, to say the least.

Oscar, when not under the influence of any drugs, has managed to cling to whatever shreds of sanity he has left. He continues to try and act kind and affable, but finds it hard to keep his constantly brimming rage in check when not fighting crime. The Question has learned how to manipulate chi. Though he isn't on par with his master Bruce Phoenix, he is rather skilled in using it. Through the use of chi, the Question can do the following:
1. Sense emotions and other faint energies that aren't chi up to a quarter mile away.
2. Use the chi in his body to heal wounds, either on himself or others, over a course of a minute.
3. Boost himself to near super human levels of strength, reflexes, and speed, allowing him to do superhuman feats like lifting up to a ton, deflecting a bullet (though not stopping rapid gunfire), or running up to 40 miles per hour. This boost only lasts for a few minutes, however.
If he uses a psychedelic drug, he will go into a trance-like state, and he unlocks his full potential for however long his trip lasts. When in his trance, his abilities are doubled (he can sense emotions and faint energies up to a half mile away, heal wounds over the course of thirty seconds, lift up to two tons, deflect multiple bullets, and run up to 80 MPH), and he can also do the following:
1. See into buildings or enclosed spaces by touching them.
2. Speak with any location that flows with chi, which is pretty much everywhere, allowing him to learn of problems before they happen.
3. See subtle clues in the environment which point him in the direction of his destination, such as a long, winding crack in a concrete sidewalk, or a rock formation that looks similar to an arrow.

A grappling hook, which he developed himself, and a small canister which he also developed himself, allowing him to release his bonding gas in four different forms (one for both bonding and releasing the hallucinogen, one for just bonding, one for just the hallucinogen, and one that releases the gas without any properties; useful for intimidation). Oscar Ellison was born in Hub City, a city notorious for its high crime rate. His mother died during childbirth and his father had left before he was born, leaving him to be put in a destitute orphanage in the worst part of town, known as The Wedge. From childhood to adolescence, he saw the worst of the world while living in the slums, and this early exposure to the horrors of the world affected him deeply. 

Despite many attempts, Oscar was never adopted, and lived in the orphanage until he was 16. He was given status as an emancipated youth and set up with a low-paying job as a waiter and a cheap apartment, which was still located in The Wedge. He saved all the money he could while using the rest to pay for rent and cheap food, his goal being to enroll in a community college with the saved up money at 18. His patience and saving paid off, and he enrolled in the local community college when he was 18.

After a year in the college, he transferred to a university in Gotham, and completed his bachelor's degree in accounting. He returned to Hub City, getting a job as a financial advisor in the general hospital, got an apartment in a better part of town, and lived life normally for another two years. However, his first 18 years stuck in the Wedge still stuck with him, and he couldn't sleep well at night knowing that there was still crime rampant in the streets. He decided he would do something about it.

Oscar trained himself to fight, tapping into his time in the orphanage and the fights he'd get into with the other boys, both the play fights and the legitimate squabbles that would end in blood and bruises. He trained himself to use his smaller build to his advantage whilst sneaking around or hiding, and also trained himself to remain unobtrusive in public in case he ever needed to stake a place out or follow a criminal. After a year and a half of training, he figured he was ready, and made a mask out of cloth to hide his entire head before beginning his one-man war on crime.

For two years, Oscar operated as the Question, often regarded as just an urban myth by the people of Hub City (save for some of the criminals, who knew a little too well just how real he is). During his third year, he met and befriended Lady Arcana, the first Metahuman, and trained under the martial artist Bruce Phoenix. During his training, Oscar refined his skill in boxing, learned some Judo and Savate, and attained a rather zen-like philosophy. He took a break from training to reintegrate into his normal life, and continued his vigilante activities after a few months. Shortly after his training, Oscar met the vigilante Alias, who seemed to be inspired by him. He decided to team up with her, hoping to take down more criminals together.

For the past four years, Oscar has been going out almost every night and occasionally during the day, protecting the denizens of Hub City. He also developed a mask from a substance he stole from his workplace, Pseudoderm, which was applied using a special bonding gas. Overtime, his near constant use of the bonding gas began to damage his lungs and alter the chemicals in his brain.

It was during this time that he learned how to manipulate chi, though he was nowhere near his full potential. However, one night he was ambushed by a group of criminals, drugged, and taken to a warehouse to be tortured then killed. However, being drugged unlocked the Question's potential, and he managed to kill them all and escape, using the now visible directions of the city to get back home. 

After that, he realized what he had to do. Oscar developed a new version of the bonding gas, finding a way to incorporate hallucinogenic properties. Reinventing himself as an urban shaman, the Question would breathe in this modified version of the gas to 'walk between worlds'. Shortly after reinventing himself, he had a falling out with his partner Alias, and they broke off contact.

Oscar continues to work at the hospital.

The Question continues his crusade on crime.

To put it kindly, Red Hood is a jackass who never shuts his trap. In other words, Red Hood is a talkative, wisecracking vigilante, who enjoys joking around with anyone who can listen to him blab on without wanting to punch him in the face (or even the people who can't). Most of the time when he gets into a fight, he continues to crack wise and taunt his foes. After all, he's usually better than them in almost every way, so why act like he isn't? Admittedly, he does find himself occasionally getting his ass kicked because he underestimated an opponent.

When not "working", David is much less bombastic and more reserved, not usually getting into conversations if he doesn't have to. However, the times that he does find himself in a conversation, he slips into a persona that's akin to his costumed one, albeit more laidback. He cracks jokes and playfully flirts with women and men alike (albeit in a rather odd way), all with a big dumb grin on his face. This isn't to say that he's all jokes and shit eating grins, however; he knows when to shut his big mouth and be serious, though God help him if he isn't going to try and laugh at the situation.

The restorative powers of the Lazarus Pits often also enhance the bodies of those put into them. In David's case, his organs, muscles, and nerves were made much stronger, even beyond peak human health. This leads to Dave having enhanced physical attributes, such as greater strength, speed, and endurance, though it's not on the level of super strength/speed/endurance. He can lift up to three tons, can maintain a speed of up to 40 miles per hour for fifteen minutes at a time, and is capable of going an entire month without water, or even three months without food. Some of David's organs are also rather redundant, with more there than are actually needed. Namely, David has extra adrenal glands, giving him superhuman reaction times and the ability to slow down his own perception of time in order to make extra tricky shots or even dodge gunfire.

Though he doesn't have durability or a healing factor that protects him from damage, David has something a bit weaker but still useful: an extremely durable skeleton that is nigh unbreakable. His skeleton can withstand pressures of up to 100,000 tons, meaning that only someone on par with Lady Arcana would be capable of breaking his bones. However, he is still made of flesh and blood, so while he may be able to not break anything, he is still capable of being killed through all the means of a normal human.

Red Hood has amassed a rather large arsenal of weapons, though he is never seen without his signature sidearms, an M&P 9 Pro Series and an M1911, the latter being a holdover from his days in the former Arab Federation; it has the names of several Arab men carved onto the slide, and never leaves his side. For up close and personal missions, Red Hood has a collection of shotguns (a Benelli M4, a Chiappa 1887 Mare's Leg, and a sawed-off Stoeger Coach Gun), assault rifles (an AR-15, an AK-47, and an M16), and SMGs (an MP5, a MAC-10, and an Uzi). He also has a sniper rifle (a Barrett 82A1) for sniping missions. For stealth missions, he fixes a suppressor to his pistols. Finally, he has a combat knife in a sheath on his boot, for close quarters combat.

David Kasimir was born David O'Rinn, part of a group of acrobats known as The Soaring Stars in Haley's Circus. At the age of nine, a criminal looking to extort money from the circus sabotaged his parents' act, killing them in the process. David, not able to handle the loss of his parents, ran away. He spent three years on the streets before he was taken in by the Gotham vigilante Grim, or Zoey Kasimir. At the age of 15, he became her sidekick, Blackstar.

When David was 16, his mother took in another boy named Malcolm. Malcolm performed heroics alongside David and Zoey as Watchdog. During this time, David's family history of mental illness caught up with him; he began hearing a voice, whispering things in his ear to make him believe things that weren't true. Namely, that his mother and the Justice League preferred his brother Malcolm over him. This led to him being jealous of his brother, which ultimately led in David destroying their relationship... And getting himself killed at the hands of Anarkee.

Not long after his death, he was resurrected by the League of Assassins, an ancient order hidden deep within the Tibetan mountains. He stayed with them to train for half a year, before escaping their hold upon finding out that his last test would be to kill a man. David spent several years in the former Arab Federation, which had fallen into civil war between citystates and their mercenary armies over supplies. He joined a mercenary army known as the Majnun Alkilab. It was here that he came to realize just how wrong he was to treat his brother the way he did, but thought that the damage had already been done, and he would never be able to go back to his family due to being legally dead. He decided to stay in the Middle East and begin a new life.

But the tragedy of losing all of his comrades over the years made him abandon the Majnun Alkilab in the time when they needed him most. He settled down in a small village after wandering for half a year, only for the village to eventually be razed by the remnants of the Majnun Alkilab several months into his stay. With nothing left, David decided to finally head back to Gotham City to get revenge on Anarkee and the Angels. Once there, he took on his mother's maiden name of DeWitt and started a new life, while performing acts of vigilantism at night under the guise of the second Red Hood.

It also comes with the added benefit of slowed aging, but that won't kick in until she's 18; once it does, three years to Stacy would be one biological year. As time goes on, her healing factor will strengthen, and she may be able to reach the ability of her father some day.

[b]Character History/Origin:[/b]
It was in 2022 that CADMUS began work on a project dubbed Project: Heracles. This project was an experiment in cloning, using DNA from normal humans and meta-humans in an attempt to create a hybrid. The ultimate goal for the project was to create a hybrid of the Gotham vigilante Grim, and the deceased New York hero Superman. However, first, they created a prototype using the DNA of Grim and the Tiger, another meta-human vigilante native to New York.

This prototype was born in a test tube, and over the course of the past four years has been growing. She was kept inside of a tank, being fed key vitamins and nutrients as well as having information deemed by CADMUS to be vital to her uploaded into her mind. She has had no life beyond this tank, full of a room temperature blue liquid, aging at approximately a year every four months.

The year is now 2026, and that's all going to change.

... And change it did. With the arrival of Captain Quantum, the clone's pod opened in the commotion and she managed to escape, where she was taken in by a woman named Marilyn Crawford who worked as a receptionist at CADMUS. With the help of Crawford, the clone managed to pick a name for herself, Stacy. But she still feels like she needs to go somewhere...

Eventually, she pinned down the place she needed to go as Gotham City. Heart full of regret, she left her home with Marilyn and set out to Gotham, hitching a ride with a pair of aspiring musicians.
