Two uniformed men, armed with rifles and glocks, trampled through the foggy wilderness.

The younger of the two was heaving. "James, what are we even doing out here? The orders they gave us weren't clear." James turned and stopped. "Well, Nick, we're hunting the Infamous Copperhead." Nick laughed. "We're hunting a damn garden-snake? Are you serious? Don't mess with m-" James slapped him. "Not a copperhead, The Copperhead. The super that went on radar officially not two years ago." Nick looked shocked. "We're hunting a super?! But what are two men supposed to do?!" James looked at him as if he was a two year-old. "Two highly trained government agents. Plus, the super is a girl, and former cop. We both know cops ain't got nothing on us, and she doesn't have a power, per say, she's just a freak." he smirked. Then, something tripped him.

[color=f7941d][i]"I'm a freak, eh? Well, thisss freak isss pissssed, and very, very, hungry."[/i][/color] a feminine serpentine voice said from the fog. Nick helped James up and they raised their rifles. "Show yourself, you abomination!" James growled. Nick whimpered. [color=f7941d][i]"Maybe, if you tell me why your hunting me exssactly? I've had little interaction with fellow law-enforsssement, even if they are ssscum."[/i][/color] the voice said. James was practically steaming. "Scum? Scum?! Like you can talk!" A shape appeared in the fog. James elbowed nick and pointed. "Especially when you are in our sights! Fire!" and bullets screamed. The fog lifted around the object, revealing a stump. Hissing laughter emanated from the forest. [color=f7941d][i]"Oh, I'm hit! Mercy, Mercy! Hes hes hes hes! You are a fool, Jamesss. You are man, and you entered the beasts layer."[/i][/color] The voice seemed closer. "Come on, your existance mocks nature, so why don't you-EERRRPPP!" an James was pulled into the fog, dropping his gun.

 Scarlet looked at her prey with hungry eyes. She had him pinned with her legs and tail, constricting to keep him still. She got close and her jabbed her tongue out several times. [color=f7941d]"You are very well ssscented for a man walking the woodsss all day, but that endsss now."[/color] James laughed. "You gonna eat me, B@&%$? Like the beast you are? Do it, I dare ya'!" he said almost maniacally. Copperhead laughed. [color=f7941d]"No..."[/color] she whispered. [color=f7941d]"I don't eat people, too fatty."[/color] and she ripped his throat out. She got up and saw Nick on the thermals, and air-tasted him. [color=f7941d]"Your friend wasss a little too tough in texture for me. Guessss I'll let the bearsss have 'im. But what of you, little Nicky? Are you going to be the valiant knight and ssslay the dragon that did nothing that wasssn't warranted? Or die before you even ssstab it'sss toe?"[/color] she said mockingly. Nick was shaking like a leaf. "Please don't eat me lady! I taste like cow s#^&! Please!" Copperhead smirked. Faster than the eye could follow, she pulled out her sidearm and shot the rifle out of his hands. Nick pulled out the glock and fired it in her general direction, but the safety was on. She holstered her weapon then slithered up to him as quick as a bullet. She grabbed the glock from his hand and bent it till it broke. He fell backwards and scuffled back into a tree. She crouched in front of him. [color=f7941d]"What to do with you? Any sssuggessstionsss?"[/color] she hissed while crawling her fingers the length of his shin. "Let me go?" he croaked. She let loose her hissing laugh. [color=f7941d]"The comedy! No, you'd sssimply go back to your employer and tell them all about me. And I can't have that. I will sssay thisss though. I'm sssorry. You ssseem like a good young man, but the only thing I'm guilty of isss protecting myssself. Is that ssso wrong?"[/color] Nick seemed a little calmer. "So what are you gonna' do?" he said with a twinge of fear. She smiled, he fangs retracted. [color=f7941d]"I'll make you a deal. You go back and tell your superiors you were attacked by a bear, which killed your partner while looking for me. Do this, and if we meet again under different circumstances, you'll have an ally, not a hunter. Go back on it, and I guess I'll have to break my taboo of not acting more snake like when it comes to meals."[/color] For effect, she licked her lips and revealed [u]all[/u] of her short, needle like, teeth. Nick blanched. "O-of c-c-course! Deal! Shake on it?" and he tentatively held out his hand. She shook it. [color=f7941d]"Now run off. There'sss an old farm clossse in that direction..."[/color] she pointed north.[color=f7941d]"...and they'll help you out. Good farm people, but they have an unhealthy practissse of making moonssshine. I'd alert the local authoritiesss if I were you. Now ssshoo!"[/color] and Nick scrambled to his feet and ran like his life depended on it, which, in his mind it did. Copperhead rose to her feet and sighed. [color=f7941d]"At least he fell for it. Like I could actually eat a whole person- well, I've never tried, but that's cannibalism!"[/color] she said with a face of disgust. [color=8dc73f][i]"Like you have to worry about that my dear~. I'm surprised you haven't yet, seeing as to how snakes do it~."[/i][/color] She smiled. A large corral snake coiled around her leg and body till it's head was eye level. [color=8dc73f]"I've seen you eat a whole rabbit before~. Why not a human~?"[/color] Copperhead scavenged snacks from Jame's dead body. [color=f7941d]"I was really hungry then and not fully in my right mind! Hunger makes me more instinctual. Your lucky that rabbit wasn't you."[/color] she said with a scowl. The snake slithered into her own pack, which she picked up and slung on her back. [color=f7941d]"Besides, I'd have to be [i]really[/i] hungry to do that. And soon, me and you never will be hungry again, once we get to that sanctuary."[/color] she said as she pulled out the old-fashioned map. [color=8dc73f]"Although I'm your traveling company, do I have to stay with you that long~?"[/color] he said in her ears. She rubbed his chin with her index and middle finger. He let out a pleased hissed. [color=f7941d]"As much as you protest, we both know you'd enjoy a pampered life. Now let's find this mansion."[/color] and she hiked through the woods in the mansion's direction, leaving the gruesome scene.
