[indent]Advanced Chi Manipulation: Due to the nature of his father's abilities and his mother's capabilities, Kai has the ability to manipulate Chi or the laten inner energy of all living creatures. Although trained humans cam gain the potential to control their inner Chi, the X-gene active in Kai allows him to further this ability to supernatural levels. In which case, he can draw energy from Yin and Yang. 

Yin - The darker half invokes physical enhancements to himself through the use of Chi. This ability is most prominant in peak-humans, such as his mother and Shang-Chi. It enables him to become stronger, move faster, react quicker, enhance his senses, and enter the Zen Trance. When in use, his eyes, veins, and heart glow a dark violet.

Yang - The light half of abilities enable him to use Chi externally for a variety of different effects. A sole user of chi in this regard, would be his father Daniel Rand, the current Iron Fist. This allows him to contruct varying shields or blasts of energy from photons and plasma from his body, most commonly his hands. He could also use it to enhance his punches and kicks in a similar way to the Iron Fist technique. When this ability is in use, a vibrant yellow aura radiates around his body, and his palms glow golden energy.

Zen Trance - His variation of the Zen trance enables him to heal from wounds, purge lethal poisons from his body, enable full body control, and even enter the astral plane in a form separate from his physical body.[/indent][/indent]

[indent][color=Green][b][u]Weaknesses[/u][/b][/color]
[indent]Kai isn't more durable or any more enhanced than any other human when he doesn't invoke his Chi abilities. He is still, albeit near peak condition, a human that can be killed by conventional means.

Ability Drawbacks: He can only use one side of his Chi abilities at a time as Yin and Yang clash quiet violently in his mortal body. If he were to attempt to, he’d begin seizing and lose consciousness for several days. Further, his Yang abilities have only recently began to shine, thus he must learn to concentrate and gauge his stamina when using that side.

The astral form of his Zen trance requires much focus, leaves his physical body vulnerable, and whatever happens to him on the astral plane, affects his physical body.[/indent][/indent]

[indent][color=Green][b][u]Prior to Joining the School[/u][/b][/color]
[indent]2000: Kai is born to Daniel Rand and Colleen Wing im K’un-Lun.

2002: The beginning of his training in K’un-Lun. Also the time that he is introduced to his second home, being New York City.

2012: When his abilities first manifested, it happened in K’un-Lun, when one of his teachers sensed a high level of chi energy within Kai. Though, the abnormality that spelled his mutant side, was just how prominent the ability was when he inadvertently exploded concussive energy, shattering a wall and nearly bringing a building down. His parents disputed on how this should be handled. He was left traumatized by his banishment, being viewed as too dangerous as some people were caught in the blast.

2013: After some measures were taken, and some additional information was learned, it was mutually agreed that Kai should go to Xavier’s School. His parents went in believing that it would be best for him there to learn and develop his abilities in a safer environment with understanding people as it was explained to him.[/indent][/indent]

[indent][color=Green][b][u]Post Powers[/u][/b][/color]
[indent]Kai initially felt slightly rejected to have been placed here by his parents but he understood why. They didn’t want him to hurt anyone else, and he didn’t want that either. For a while, he was always in the background, easily unnoticed because of hsi general silence. He worked hard in class and kept to himself, and his small inner circle. He wasn’t very good at talking to people, and often overthought everything that he did.

The Professor was the one that helped him to break out of that apprehensive bubble. He helped Kai to understand that he didn’t have to be afraid of making other friends, and even helped him make a few in the school. With that said, it was definitely a shard in his heart when the kindly director of the school passed. He had his time of mourning, but he didn’t let it keep him down for long.

Instead, he used it to keep himself motivated to focus on learning more about himself, his kind, and to find his place throughout the journey called life.[/indent][/indent]
