Their roaring bikes, and the skill of their Mem-Bar Warriors became feared from coast to coast, as the tribe roamed the holy I80, allowing every single member to take the sacred trip, that would see them ride eternal along the great Highway of the stars, where they would join their ancestors in eternal glory and speed. But the times changed, as the warrior was replaced by the soldier, and the 80s became surrounded by mighty nations. Legion, NCR and the Brotherhood. Soon, they no longer could dare the crossing from coat to cost, forced to remain on the western coast, constantly eying the mighty bear to the west, greedy and hungry for new land. Yet, the wise hunter bids his time, and awaits the right moment to strike. The 80s had learned from the fate of the Scorpions and Jackals, and would not join them in oblivion! It was in the year 2273, when mighty Thunderbird took the control of the 80s, after killing his brother and uncle in single combat, in the sacred tradition of the one-mile-duel. Gathering the road captains behind him, all remaining chapters submitted to the new Warchief, who would ride along the I80, thousands of roaring bikes behind him. His horde roamed with him, raiding the distracted NCR, the Mormons and the tribes of the wastes alike. Plans were made, for a great push into the land of the Mid-West brotherhood, yet these plans would be halted, once the great war of the Bear and the Bull began. Picking no side, Thunderbird unleashed a campagin of reconquest onto the weakened NCR, counting that the onslaught of the Legion and Brotherhood would finally break their back. Yet little did he knew, that the moment the peace was signed, a beaten and hateful nation, would focus down its wrath onto the raiders that had tormented it, while it was down. Under the leadership of Cassandra Moore, wounded, yet still able to lead, the 80s great horde was crushed between Winnemucca and Battle-Mountain. Just like the Legion had adapted the tactics of old, the NCR had learned how to fight the mobile warriors of the 80s, by using terrain, barricades and infantry in squares. Thunderbird himself, was dragged to Shady Sands, placed before a jury, and hanged with his fellow road-captains. Justice, the NCR called it, driving the 80s out once and for all, into the rough and inhospitable land of the Great Basin Desert. Left without leadership, the remnants quickly fractured, as the more powerful nations around them, easily could defend themselves against their raids. Some bend the knee for the great Khan, while others turned into petty raiders. Once proud Road-Captains, now lead their chapters as mercenaries for scraps, trying to carve out a living in the inhospitable wastes. In their most desperate hour, the 80s turned against themselves for water, food and gasoline. In this dark hour, like straight out of an tale of old, a hero arrived, riding the red bike of war, like old Thunderbird had. Claiming to have followed the I80 from ocean to ocean, he proclaimed himself as Thunderfoot, heir of Thunderbird and rightful ruler of the 80s. No Road-Captain respected his claim as Warchief, yet the outcasts of the remnants quickly rallied around him, and soon, he would call in his claim with blood. Or so it is told...
Population: 321
With the days of Thunderbirds great horde long numbered, the 80s are now fractured in dozens of Chapters, spread all along the I80, east of the NCR border. While the stronger ones have turned to mercenary work for both the Khan and Vegas, the majority tries to scrap a living off petty raiding, scavenging and trading along the great I80. Thunderfoot, Thunderbirds last living son, has gathered his own band west of the great salt lake, seeking to restore the old glory of the 80s, and unite the shattered chapters. Time will tell, what will happen... If he is not able to ride and fight, he is not an 80. But only the true Mem-Bar warriors call a 80s warbike their own. The majority are young Prospects, inexperienced warriors, who either own no bike, or drive a scrap-roarer, a cheap imitation of a true warbike driven by the Mem-Bar warriors. They are mocked for having to either ride on cars, trucks or even run on foot like walkers. With the warrior culture embedded into the very being of the 80s, being a warrior is not a choice, but a destiny for every son (and rarely daughter) born into the 80s, with only the path of the engine-whisperer, Oil-Shaman and Blood-Mechanic seens as equally honorable. Mem-Bar warriors will ALWAYS ride a true war-bike, build on an pre-war engine and covered in trophies. Should it be destroyed or taken in battle, an Mem-Bar will go to great lengths, trying to recover it, for his honor will depend on it. Warbikes are often decorated with Spikes and sickles, both for intimidation and combat purpose. Scrap-bikes, are crude copies of the mighty war-bikes, build from scavenged material by the prospects, who use them in combat. Crude and unreliable, they are still highly sought after, for the speed advantage they provide to a warrior.
One weapon, all 80s will carry, is their famous war clubs. While not single one looks alike, their bite is terrible, and the 80s have perfected the art of an attack during full speed on a bike. Skulls and bones easily break and shatter under their crushing blows. Made from dry wood, bones, scrap and countless other things, they are also make for rather excellent collectors items.

The 80s economy is based around slavery and raiding, as it has been since the earliest records of the oil-Shamans. Yet with the great defeat of Thunderbird, many chapters have taken up to mercenary work, bowing before new masters who provide for them, most famous of them, the Great Khan. Yet, trade still exists, as the 80s are scavengers and mechanics, that with the tools and options provided, are second to none, in repairing and restoring vehicles and bikes. The rebuilding of such a machine is a sacred act in the eyes of the 80s, and they seldom sell them, yet are quite often willing to trade spare parts and other "useless tech", as well as slaves, for water, ammunition, guns and gasoline.

The culture of the 80s is dating back before the great war, even if not a single 80 alive is aware of this fact, and only the handful people having been there before the great war, can remember the biker-gangs that would found them one day, suriving the apocalypse and thriving in the lawless world. Chief among them, was the native-american gang of the "80s Braves".
The 80s are a patriarchal culture, in which a womens place is to raise children and remain in the camp. Yet, rarely a women of particular skill, either from the insides of the 80s or the outside, is allowed to become a Prospect on the Road-Captains express order, and a handful cases have been known for a woman to claim the title of Mem-Bar warrior.
Slavery is common in the 80s, who call them "Walkers", forcing them to carry the supplies of the Chapter and scavenge during the march. Yet, killing a slave without a reason is a punishable offense inside the 80s, and needless abuse is frowned upon as dishonorable. The taking of concubines on the other hand, is seen as a normal, if encouraged practice. All children born from slaves are free, and raised as 80s in their own right.

The 80s worship the Interstate 80 as the mirror of the great Highway in the sky, on which all their ancestors ride in endless union. Prayers are to be made on asphalt and the signs of the I80 are of great significance for the 80s. True member Warriors wear the Blue-White symbol, while Prospects are only allowed to wear the green symbol. Mostly worn on the back or the chest, to remove it, is a sign of great dishonor or submission, while giving another member the sign, is seen as an act of brotherhood. The faith is overseen by oil-Shamans, named for the flasks of motor-oil they carry around and regularly drink to introduce visions from the great highway above. Blessing the bikes and other vehicles, the engine is seens as an mirror of the human heart, and as such given great importance in the faith of the great I80. Sacrifices are made to the I80 by dragging people on chains behind a bike, or hanging them from the great metal constructions that cover the holy I80.
