While they are not properly automatons, their hearts are clockwork and portions of their skeletons and other inner workings have been reinforced with metal, the better to bind the experimental magic to their bodies. [@Stern Algorithm] If you wanna figure out if and how your char and mine know each other, I'm game~
Shit. Let's talk. You mentioned that Professor Grey is "highly knowledgeable about myalo, shades, and automata", and some of Arsenio's favorite classes at the Institute are: "Magic, Mathematics, and Myalo", "Advanced Automation", and "Alchemy and Automatons", in order to understand more about himself. So it should stand to reason that he's sat in on a few of her lectures. It might also be 'cyclically ironic'? I don't know what literary term refers to this, but since she attended Geraldine's and crashed courses at the Institute, and he attends the Institute and crashes courses at Geraldine's, it makes sense that there's a bit of a kindred spirit thing going on there, both being non-conformists, and maybe she catches him sneaking over to Geraldine's one time, and gives him her blessing, more or less. Maybe, given how sharp she is, maybe she is one of the few people in Arsenio's life who figured out he was an automaton immediately, something that would impress the child. Would she have shared what she was to him at all? I'm going to assume no, which is fine.
