His build is nothing unusual for his position, with an ordinary height of 5'10 and noticeable musculature hampered by poor nutrition. He wears thick cloth dress that while uncomfortable and unappealing are tough and cheap. Personality: Daniel's personality is very 'false', as throughout life he has always struggled to be adequate in society. Even though he now knows what he is, his learned behaviours are here to stay. He will generally adjust himself to what people want out of him, unless for one reason or another he does not need their benevolence to him. History: Like hundreds of generations of ancestors on The Emperor's Thought before him, Daniel was expected to live the ordinary life of a ship crew member on a standard Imperial Navy vessel. But, this would not be the case. As he grew it was quite soon clear not everything was normal about him. He looked normal enough, acted properly, and was quite typical stock of the crew-folk. Yet the sociable culture of the ship was the only thing truly preventing Daniel from being ostracized in his life. Yet, he did find himself a place in the ship's society, even if a small one. Life went on peacefully, little excitement save for a few exotic shore leaves and boardings upon his ship. But, quite recently things changed. The Emperor's Though was going for regular maintenance, and in the docks the young shipman came upon the Sisters of Silence. They were merely passing, and Daniel remarked upon how odd these 'Sororitas' looked. Yet, an elderly member of the crew corrected him, calmly explaining what they were and the nature of the pariahs, how people reacted and thought of them. While unsettling, for now it was but a thought to be lodged away with the lad not yet making the connection. It would soon be made for him. Another boarding action happened but a week later. It was a particularly nasty attack of the auxiliaries of the Tau, Kroot supported by Demiurg and Nicassar. The Nicassar attacks upon the decks he was on being marginally less organized was not of real note, but what followed after was. As men had to evacuate parts of the ship to the enemy gaining ground, it so happened that Crewman Bauke was jammed in quite tightly with one of the ship's Astropaths. The prolonged close contact brought quite some agony to the running psyker, the consequences expected. Once some comprehensible speech was established, he spoke to a ship Commissar, quite clearly pointing at Daniel. It was only now, that realization dawned. Though the investigation was ongoing, the young crewman knew in his head that the future most likely meant he would be indentured somewhere he really, really didn't want to be. Panicked, but relieved that the ship needed urgent repair he quickly went for shore leave the moment it docked and now runs. By luck he hears a Rogue Trader is in port and hopes to seize the opportunity. Skills: Sneak: While Daniel has hidden from boarding parties and other such foes quite successfully, where he excels is in the non-traditional variety of stealth; he can hide things about his person very well concealing drugs, firearms, and other expensive contraband about his person and getting it past the watchful eye of all sorts of security personnel and machinery. Rough and Dirty: After 16 years in memory upon The Emperor's Thought, Daniel can take care of himself in a fight and can at least shoot a firearm. That said, in real combat his strategy is almost always to either run away, or to suppress the enemy so that real soldiers can get to work. Mariner's Life: The past life of the Shipman has given him considerable skills and knowledge. He knows the anatomy and operation of Imperial Ships and most things that can be typically found aboard them. Silver Tongue: Shipman Bauke has developed good speech both written and spoken as a necessity, without it having difficulty performing even basic interactions with other people if they are so predisposed. Equipment: Beginning: Old cloth work clothing, stub pistol with two seven-shot magazines, small amount of Thrones and other miscellaneous Imperial world currencies.
