Understandably so. Hunters see and experience things that are fucked up. But, Lilith doesn't hide behind a serious and quiet wall. Rather, she hides behind a sarcastic and energetic wall. She uses humor to mask any pain or fear she's feeling, even cracking jokes in the middle of a bad situation. Couple that with sarcasm, quick-wit, and eye-rolls, and we have Lilith Westbay. A few other things that make Lilith, well, Lilith, is that she seems to have an endless amount of energy. Even after a rough hunt, covered in bruises, blood, and dirt, she'll be bouncing on her toes with bright eyes. Of course, she gets exhausted, and has to crash at some point, but she often doesn't show it. Suffering from insomnia, she has gotten used to late nights, and not sleeping for a day or two. She is very productive, and doesn't hesitate to get something done when it needs to be done. She doesn't like to sit around and do nothing. She gets fidgety and sometimes a little annoyed if she has to sit too long. Ironic, since she travels by car so much. She is a very confident and sure woman. She knows what she wants, she knows when she wants it, and she usually knows how to get it. She is always holding her head high, shoulders straight, and walking with an air of self-assurance. She will shut down anyone who attempts to put her down in any way, unless it's a close friend and they're simply stating concern about something she's doing. Though, she does have her insecurities. She dropped out of high school, and as a result, she has worries she isn't as smart as she could be. She tries to ignore that little voice, but it likes to pipe up at the worse of times. Despite that, she is still very opinionated. She isn't too blunt, though. She has a sharp tongue, yet she attempts to not be too harsh with her honesty. She does think words matter, and so if she has an opposing opinion or idea, she'll deliver it in a... nicely blunt way, as she calls it. She doesn't like to hide who she is, or her thoughts, so she tries to be as open as she can be. However, she is closed off in one way, and that's talking about her past. It seems to be a running trend among hunters that they keep tight-lipped about their past. Lilith won't immediately jump into what made her start hunting. Though, if she gets comfortable with somebody, and the moment calls for it, she'll disclose as much as she feels is appropriate. Especially if that person opens up to her. She feels like relationships are give and take, and takes her relationships seriously. She may be hard to deal with at times, with being so vibrant and colorful - in language, too - plus being so opinionated and sarcastic. She's a lot like her mother at times, having gotten her strong sense of self, and overall just strong personality, from the woman. Despite being a handful at times, Lilith is a very loyal and caring person, who will go out of her way for a fellow hunter, and especially a friend. It may be old and beat-up, but it's taken care of, proven by how smoothly it runs. It was her mom's, so the old girl means a lot to Lilith. Rizzo and Frenchy - Yes, Lilith named her two Colts after Grease characters. The best Grease characters, she'd argue. She has silver bullets with crosses carved into them to complete the deadly package. Yo ho - Lilith's trusty machete that makes her feel like a badass pirate... don't ask. She wears these all the time. Stevie - a simple lock picking kit. Who knows when Lilith will have to break the law a little to save a life. She chose that name just because she liked it. Blanche Devereaux - This flask is made out of real silver, filled with holy water. Also named after a Golden Girl because the Golden Girls fucking rock, in Lilith's opinion. Lucy Ricardo - the internet has everything these days, including cross necklaces filled with holy water. Lilith hides this necklace under her shirts every chance she gets. Named because Lilith does love Lucy. Appearance: Lilith has an old school elegance that she is fully aware of. She holds herself as a confident woman that knows herself and what she wants out of life; and how to get it. One of her greatest pleasures in life is finding time to put in for herself. While she works a dirty job, she manages to keep a clean and polish look... most of the time. She keeps her hair chopped short, only letting it get long enough to push back into a wind-blown look or flop over her forehead, before cutting it off again. She has bright blonde hair with dark roots, her long, thin eyebrows matching her roots color. She often coats her thick lips in bright red, or hot pink, or even a bright green, depending on the day. She is almost always sporting a cat eye with long, painted lashes. There are, naturally, days she has to go simple, which she is fine with. Her dark eye makeup tends to bring out her green-hazel eyes, her bright lipsticks making her look pale and porcelain. She is no where near fragile, though. She has muscle, a strong build that translates into curves and wide hips. She loves her curves, choosing to show them off through tighter clothing. She loves leathers and soft cloths and tight jeans or, simply, tights. She expresses herself through her style, something she didn't often do before, and she loves experimenting. She very rarely wears heels, only when she has to possibly go undercover to some fancy-schmancy party - which she secretly loves - or when she knows for sure no running will happen that day... which, sometimes, who knows. Her default is usually biker boots that go over her tight pants. While she enjoys bright colors, or eye-catching looks, she knows when to tone it down, especially if she's checking out a new town for any troublemakers. Other: She really does not like to be called Lily unless it's by somebody she's close to, and even that's pushing it at times. She is very fearful of falling in love, especially with a man. She seeks out short partnerships with women, not men, despite being attracted to both. She names almost everything she buys. History: It’s a tale that has been told for as long as hunters have been around, a tale that is nearly every hunter’s origin story: tragic death of a loved one, done by the hand of a bloodsucker. Lilith is no different, however, her story somewhat is. Let's start at the beginning. Lilith never knew her father. She grew up in Texas with a mother who busted her ass to give the best life she could to her precious little girl. Lilith loved her mother dearly. The woman was a spit-fire who spoke her mind and smoked like a chimney. She didn't teach her daughter the best ideals or habits - like never fall in-love because men were pigs, or that cigarettes were great stress relievers. Lilith began to admire her mother less and less as she got older. She appreciated her, because she did work hard to give Lilith a decent life (even if that meant sleeping with a questionable man to make some money for Christmas time), but she had pushed Lilith into some negative mindsets. As a result, Lilith had a bit of a rebellion streak in high school. Her life turned into a dramatic teenage drama, and it took her mother getting cancer for her to realize it. Everything shifted at that moment. Lilith was uncaring about her grades for another reason. She dropped everything for her mother, the woman who wasn't perfect but tried so hard. Dropping out of school was easy; hearing her mother only had another year, possibly two, wasn't. Lilith began working, taking care of the household. Her mother was a stubborn one, and went back to work herself, but only an easy, part-time job. Lilith hated she began seeing her mother as a ticking time bomb. The woman cried a lot more, and made Lilith listen to her will and burial request. A year passed, and Lilith felt like the whole second year, she was holding her breath. The second year was almost up when she met him. He was a traveling doctor, he claimed, he could cure her mother, he assured. Lilith didn't believe him, yet she was so desperate. She just turned sixteen. She couldn't be an orphan this early in her life. She was scared, she felt alone, all contact with her previous friends, her previous life, cut long ago. Her mother was getting sicker, so she said yes. She let the strange man in, while her mother rested in bed. She was tiring quicker now, needing to lay down more. She wasn't working so Lilith was working two jobs to make up for it. Lilith had a bad feeling, but her desperation won out. Her mother questioned what was happening, tried to swat the man away, but it was no use. She muttered some rude things as the man looked her over, promising to help her, under the watchful eye of Lilith. Then, something happened that haunts Lilith to this day. It was a blur, the man quickly pushing her mother's head back and biting her on the neck. Her mother had been weak until that moment. She began to scream and thrash, fists pounding into the man wherever she could reach, but she couldn't dislodge him. Lilith went into a panic, jumping on the man and attempting to get an arm around his neck or shoulders. She was so panic-stricken, she hadn't even felt it when her mother accidentally hit her a couple times. The man ripped his mouth from her mother's neck, slinging blood, and threw Lilith off with a fearsome growl. Lilith slammed into the dresser, hitting her head so hard, she heard ringing and her vision blacked out for a few minutes. When she came to, she saw the blurry image of her mother's arm hanging over the side of the bed, pale fingers barely twitching. As her vision cleared, she slowly rose her gaze to the man attached to her mother's neck again, red bright around his mouth and smeared on her mother's pale skin. She was still recovering when a woman came racing into the room. Lilith blinked longer than a blink should last, because the next time she opened her eyes, the man was no longer there and the woman held a sharp object in her hand. Lilith managed to crawl to the bed, dragging herself up to her mother, ignoring the woman's eyes. Her mother’s eyes were half-lidded, the smell and sight of blood making Lilith’s stomach twist uncomfortably. Lilith hadn't even realized she was sobbing, grasping at her mother's weak hands. She was begging her to stay, to not go, to not leave her. Her mother was breathing shallowly, barely aware. Lilith hadn't even noticed the woman until she said, “sorry, kid” and pointed a gun at her mother's head. Lilith wasn't sure which was louder: her scream, or the gunshot. Afterward, Lilith watched in numb shock as her mother was burned in their country house’s backyard. The woman offered her a cigarette, and Lilith took it. It was silent, until Lilith choked out, “what the fuck is happening?” Lilith got a peek behind the curtain she never wanted. She learned of vampires and hunters, of lore and history, of stories made of nightmares and darkness. The vampire Lilith had invited into her home was one the woman - Yasmine - had been hunting for some time. The vampire would purposefully seek out sick and dying patients to turn at risk of his own life. However, along with those sick and dying patients, usually came a desperate family member or two. He was attempting to build a coven based strictly on manipulation and obligation. He was going to turn her mother. Maybe had already started the process. Lilith had no way of going back to a normal life after this discovery. She still felt desperation, but this stemmed from not wanting to be left alone, in this new world where monsters were real. Yasmine offered to introduce her to her group of hunters, and Lilith jumped on the invite. After all, what did she have to live for? Yasmine was her best choice at this point. She met the group of hunters, and her training began. She had some bitterness towards Yasmine for shooting her mother, but Lilith wasn't an idiot. She knew it had to be done. A couple years passed, Lilith being trained under some amazing hunters. She met and bonded with a sweet girl named Jenny. She had been told to be careful when it came to befriending or falling in love with the business she worked in. But, it had been a long time since Lilith had felt she had a true friend in someone, and Jenny made her feel like she found that. Not that she wasn't close to a couple of her fellow hunters, but they were older, and rarely spoke about anything other than hunting. Not long after, Jenny grew smitten with a newcomer named Wyatt Carver. Lilith thought they were sweet together, even with her own hang ups on love. Though, as the two were getting serious, Lilith left. She packed, said her goodbyes, and left the state. It was shortly after her first kill that she did by herself. She couldn't stand another day in her home state. She had to get out, travel, and hunt. She didn't get news of Jenny until it had been a week after the incident. She was skimming the Texas news like she always did, to check in on her home, when she saw the story. She hadn't smoked that much in a while. She had sent her condolences to the last known contact information she had of Wyatt’s, though she wasn't sure if he ever received it. Not that she minded a bit. A few words wouldn't make her feel better either. She kept moving, kept hunting, kept her sanity the best she was able. 48 states later, she got a surprise call from Yasmine. She had changed her number long ago, so who knew how the woman got it. She had a seemingly magical way with tech. Yasmine told her about a problem in Massachusetts, saying she was tied up in Mexico so she thought she'd send one of the best. Well, Lilith had thought after the phone call, make that 49 states.
