How could a man like Watanabe Tsuna have possibly been one of Minamoto no Raiko's Four General Kings?

Tsuna is completely and without any remorse, [i]lazy.[/i]  A savant with a blade from a young age, mastering the art of swordsmanship came as easily as breathing for him.  Coupled with this was his unimaginable strength.  Even as a child he was said to be stronger than any man had seen before.  As he grew older, his fame grew, but he desired none of it.  He merely wanted to rest in the shady spots of his peach orchard.  However, when Minamoto no Raiko came for him, offering him a place among her retainers, he couldn't turn her down.  The other three didn't quite understand why she would want such a slouch, and even she had to admit their point was a fair one.  However, she knew they would change their tune when they saw Tsuna in action.

While on an adventure, charged with the duty of slaying Tsuchigumo, a giant spider yokai they encountered in a mountain cave.  In order to give Minamoto the opportunity to kill the monster, Tsuna ripped a tree out of the ground and threw it on top of the great spider, knocking it down, wounding it heavily, and stopping its movements.  After this quest, the other members of the Four General Kings began to appreciate Tsuna, even with his laziness.  His love of sleep and total lack of concern for many pressing matters constantly put him and Sakata Kintoki at odds, but they never battled, managing to keep the peace.

Minamoto and her retainers swiftly became legend, known by all throughout Japan.  However, that fame was only going to increase, as they were tasked with rescuing Princess Ibaraki, a beautiful girl who had been captured by the oni Shuten-Doji.

It is incredibly sturdy and incredibly sharp, well suited to cutting through even the tough hide of an oni.  When the true name is invoked, mana courses through the blade, increasing the raw cutting power.  With a single step and a single cut, Tsuna can slash through any opponent, even if they have skin as strong as an oni's.

[b]Description:[/b] The arm of Ibaraki-Doji that Watanabe claimed as a trophy and lost again.  Invoking its name causes his left arm to morph into the arm of that damnable oni.  When in this state, attacks made with the oni arm are treated as having strength one rank higher.  Tsuna can also use the technique Onika no Ken, which allows him to create a strong torrent of flames that consume whoever his target happens to be.  Owning the arm, even briefly, is a part of his legend, and thus the Throne has bound the arm to him, much to his own chagrin.[/hider]
