She had been looking away when the event occurred and the noise surprised her, even if she had been thinking about it, would have assumed it was due to happen soon anyways. But she didn't know what to do. She'd barely known Marc, only really exchanged a few sentences with him at most, but it was still very well possible that he had just died. And Zoie was right there in front of her crying, and there was nothing she could do about it. When it came down to it, she didn't really know this woman. She didn't know how to comfort her. There it was again. All she could do was stand there and watch these things happen. Although Zoie sat down by her brother, it didn't feel right for her to take a seat next to either of them. And she didn't really feel like sitting at all, So she stood in front of the porch, leaning back against the guard rail. If Marc was really in that building, they'd find out soon enough. As dreadful as it would be to have confirmation of his passing, a question occurred to her. If he really wasn't in there, but Relic's phone call produced no results, where the hell was he? Something far worse could have happened to him and none of them would be any the wiser. Or he could have been playing them the whole time and none of them had ever caught on. She quickly squashed the idea.
