After much deliberation and consideration the Cross parents concluded that the best course of action was to send Stephanie to live with her aunt and uncle in New York. This, of course, was not well received by the twins, who had never been separated for a period of time longer than a month. Spice still clearly remembers the immense heartbreak of that last hug with Brandon, even if she knew she would see him again soon.

Surprisingly, Spice had grown to enjoy The Big Apple and the opportunities it provided. The fresh start had been a blessing, allowing her to shed the mean-girl reputation she’d thrived upon back in LA and build up the rebellious wild child one instead. Although she'd kept some of her bad habits, the Brooklyn Stephanie had made a name for herself in Park Crossing High: with a faithful best friend and a high position in the school's social ladder.
