Abathur was in the now completed evolution pit. He was inside reconstructing the strands and sequences of zerg creatures to bring into this new world. He had spawned more zerglings using the hatchery and sent them all around the crevices of the sewer to gather more biomass. However, the zerglings' search produced little, only several rats and a single alligator. Abathur needed more biomass to construct his next strain of creature, the roach.

Meanwhile, several zerglings on patrol could hear Link's echoes. They immediately shifted from their original course, running at full speed towards the source of the sound.
