Growing up around the area, and with a father that was a member of the Iron Tribe, Baxter watched the men ride their motorcycles around the area, and attended Hangman’s funeral in 1994, when he was 12. Even so, Baxter had no intentions to join the club; based on the way he’d seen his parents act while growing up, often arguing about his father’s commitment to the club versus his commitment to his family led to him thinking that the club was far from positive. He stuck to this ideal for most of his life, and when he turned eighteen, he elected to join the military. Specifically, he applied for and was accepted into the Navy SEALs. He would be a member for 12 years, leaving the service and returning home at the age of 30. He had been deployed mostly in black ops military assignments, and for the most part, he avoids talking about it. When he returned, he found his life as he remembered it had changed. During his time away, his parents had split. His mother had moved away, and no one really knew where she went. He would have asked his father, but his father had passed away, working with the club. Baxter found himself lost to say the least; lonely at worst. On top of that, he was afflicted with PTSD from some of the operations he carried out. It made it hard to sleep at night, and hard to readjust into society. After a year or so, once he’d settled down and gotten a hold on himself, he started a twice-a-week meeting with other veterans around town, one where they can speak openly about their bad memories, and work with one another to make the transition back to society easier. Despite his feelings against the club as a youth, the club was happy to provide him a brotherhood and people he could be friends with. After all, his father had been a member, and that meant that his family would be taken care of. It wasn’t long after his return that he was a prospect on the club, and in due time, he became the Vice President; it was no secret that his time in SEALs had made him a valuable member of the club when it came to the Iron Tribe’s more violent ventures. The feeling of family was enough for him to stay, though he promised himself that if he ever fell in love, he wouldn’t let the motorcycle club come between himself and his family; he wasn’t going to be his father in that respect. He works hard for the club, and does what needs to be done, with a few limits; limits that were always respected by Billy Bob. Baxter is proud of his position as the Vice President, and doesn’t use the position as a reason to get out of doing ‘grunt work.’
Extra Information:
FC: Jon Bernthal; 4c8def People are aware he has a wife but he never discloses her information and they've never actually seen her.
[sub]shoutout to [@lovely complex] for doing this for me[/sub]
