"We probably have over stayed our welcome here, that is for sure, come along," he said before he went straight out the door, gathering the files and such that they had grabbed along the way, making sure they weren't missing anything. Ellie raised an eyebrow, hardly convinced by Erik's dismissal. If it was so unimportant, then why destroy the file? She made a mental note to ask Charles about it later - maybe if she promised to try reading an English book, he'd be willing to pry the information out of Erik's mind for her. She let the subject drop for now, flipping off Carolina as they left. The woman rubbed her the wrong way and the young mutant followed Erik out the door. "Où allons-nous?" Ellie asked, curious if they were going back to the mansion already or not. He just shook his head as he started heading down the hallway, away from the other two, when he noticed something strange. This time as they made their way down the hallway, he noticed that the cameras seemed to be on, and were watching them. He glanced slightly at Ellie, "We need to hurry," he whispered to her as he picked up the pace of walking down the hallway, they had yet to run into anyone though. Ellie glanced up at the cameras, pulling a marble from her pocket and speeding it up, but she missed and cursed under her breath. If she could flawlessly shatter things in Charles' home, why would her aim just suddenly be off? Kicking herself, she nodded and walked faster with Erik. He was old enough to be her father - maybe her grandfather even - and she figured that he knew what he was doing in this situation. The torn up file still bothered her, however. Soon, before they could exit the hallway, the pair of them were met with guards, and a lot of them. There were several of them, and they instantly fired shots at them with guns. Erik let out a bit of a sigh, before he blocked all of the bullets fired their way, stopping them in midair, all except for one that is. He hadn't noticed a group appear behind them, and one of them fired off a shot. Hearing it, he turned and the bullet entered his right arm, causing his focus to break and the bullets he had stopped to drop from the air. "Connards!" Ellie screamed at the guards. As Erik's focus stopped, Ellie's eyes flashed red as she held her hand out, palm flat, and the next round of bullets came to a stop. "You didn't show us mercy - so I won't show you any, mes amis," Ellie said flatly, her eyes still bright red as she reversed the velocities on the bullets and sent them speeding back towards the guards that had shot of them. Half of them were killed almost instantly. "Erik, ce n'est pas grave?" she asked hopefully. "I am alright Ellie, do not worry, just a simple gunshot wound, nothing to worry about, it isn't too serious," he said as he grabbed her arm and took off into the air, before landing on the other side of the group who was still standing. He stopped the next round of bullets as he used them to shatter the glass doors and he raced over to their car. "Get in, now Ellie!" he said as he got into the drivers seat and started the car. Ellie jumped into the car, flipping off the guards before she used her powers to speed the car up. It wasn't going as fast as she wanted it to, but it still was giving them a bit of a head start on any pursuit and made the entire acceleration process a lot quicker. "We should get ya some medical attention, mon ami." "We have bigger things to worry about right now," he responded as suddenly there were sirens blaring behind him as he weaved the car in and out of traffic. "Looks like we have some company..." he said as he flipped a parked car and it landed in front of the nearest chase car. Ellie sighed, flipping on the radio before she stood up in her seat. She had a fairly decent sense of balance and she got an idea, looking at the chase cars. Her eyes flashed red as she accelerated the front half of two cars, and then she flexed her mental muscles, manipulating the back halves to a sudden stop and near change in direction. The force caused two of the cars to rip apart and Ellie let out a victory screech. "I win, Erik! I got two, you only got one connard! Hahahaha!" "It isn't a contest Ellie, we need to lose the rest of them before we head back to the mansion," he said, before he flipped a few other cars into the paths of the police vehicles. "So we might be racing around for a while..." "Anythin' can be a contest if ya make it one," Ellie argued, using her powers to cause the cars chasing them to speed up backwards. She pouted slightly when they didn't hit anything. "Ya know, someone that was super fast would be so convenient right now...." "That it would be when you think about it. And nothing should be a contest like this, especially since we are running for our lives at this point, give me a moment..." he said, before he slowed down the car and went down a few side streets, before he pulled into an alleyway and stopped the car, he was waiting to see if they were caught or something. Ellie turned off the radio, thinking that having it blasting probably wouldn't help. "I think killin' idiots who fired at us without provocation can be a contest," Ellie argued. She sat down in her seat, just waiting to see if anyone would come after them. She had been having a lot of fun, messing with the cars like that. There was something that just felt good about it. They were hardly stopped for a few moments, before a cop car found them, but this time, he wasn't planning on letting them go. He held up his left hand, before he proceeded to crush the car, shutting the siren off and smashing the radio inside. He didn't let go until the car was in somewhat of a ball, killing the two inside of it. After another few moments, he started up the car and started driving towards the mansion again, not saying anything. She gave him a smile, watching as the destruction remained in the rearview mirror. This is what the world deserved. This is what humanity wanted to do to them - so why shouldn't they give them a taste of their own medicine? An eye for an eye, after all. "This is progress, mon ami." She gave Erik another smile. Unlike Charles, Ellie was certain that Erik was the real deal - a leader willing to take risks and fight for what was right, not just sit around with a trust fund in a mansion. "It does not matter Ellie... There is more important things to do... Preferably with the information we just got, hopefully the random files you grabbed have something useful in them, along with the rest that we found already..." he said in response, just driving towards the mansion still.
