He easily assimilates into the school's clique of "normies", and is quickly warned of a certain group of interesting characters (individuals who use modern variations of witchcraft, which MC is part of).

The basic idea is that curiosity gets the better of YC and he ends up becoming somewhat acquainted with the group, learning about them and their craft. MC will be a very willing teacher to YC, and their relationship would grow in whatever way you and I want.
