She had no words for the peck on the cheek Lucas gave her nor what he had to say afterward. The usually giddy and excited and often-opinionated Estelle Lambert was, for the first time, left completely speechless. An act she did from impulses alone was not only reciprocated, it also seemed to be welcomed with arms wide open from the boy who, up until ten minutes ago, didn’t think she’d be having this conversation with. Stella was unable to process it all, which led to her slowly swim back, though she soon realized how this made her look. Backing away from Lucas because she was afraid? No, Stella didn’t do afraid. She friended someone who she was more or less obsessed with in Victoire, so it wasn’t fear that was causing her to retreat. If anything, she was overwhelmed by all of this and that’s why she wasn’t exactly embracing him. And the alcohol she had earlier certainly wasn’t doing anything for her. “I--I need something stronger than alcohol,” she admitted louder than she had thought she did. “If you can get me one of those fancy pills that Diablo has on one of those tables, I might be able to relax more,” Stella said, indirectly asking Lucas to go get her one of the pills on the tables that Santiago has spread throughout the area. On one hand, it seemed as though he got under Victoire’s skin, even if it didn’t seem like that in the most obvious of ways. He’s known her long enough to at least tell how she often chose to express herself. He knew when to play off her comments as her usual bitchiness taking control of her mouth’s actions and when he knew he got under her skin. Unfortunately for Sonny, he couldn’t tell which one of those this was right now. Anyone who knew Sonny could tell you that he didn’t like not being in the knowing of how someone acted. Much like how Vic wouldn’t let him see if he got under her skin, Sonny sure as hell wasn’t going to let her see that he was bothered by this rare moment of not knowing if he really did get to her or if she actually got one over him by tricking him into some false sense of unsecurity. “Oh ouch. You know that actually hurt me, but not for the reason you’re probably thinking,” Sonny began, grabbing a drink from the table, “you see, that’s just the kind of immature insult that I’d expect from your dumb-as-all-hell brother, not someone who claims to be a dozen or so IQ points smarter than them.” As Sonny spoke, he took a swig of his drink, maintaining eye contact with Vic. once he set it down, the teen further closed the gap between the two, as he was no more than two feet away from her. “But hey, since we’re talking about ‘heads far up our asses’, at least mine isn’t so far up there that I can’t hear what people say about me. Yours is so anally deep, you actually believe your own hype. It’s sad, really. Someone who, by all rights, should be sought after by people of both sexes, is so repulsing that not even a person with blindness wants to be with you, let alone be mistakenly associated with you.” Someone call the plumber because there’s something about to go boom in the pipes.
