Penelope closed her eyes as she felt Crow wrap his arms around her. It was nice to be able to lay besides him again and she had missed it but she found the moment to feel more bittersweet than anything else. She tried to push away the bothersome thoughts that seemed determined to keep her awake. Focusing on the tiredness that had built up since the night before, she eventually managed to drift off into a light sleep. -- The sound of approaching footsteps stirred the knight from her light slumber. William had walked over to wake her up for her watch and now paused as he noticed she was already awake. His gaze remained cold as he looked down at her and Crow before giving a snort. As Penelope slipped away from Crow, William marched off to the far side of the clearing to lay down for the night. The female knight sighed and stood up. She walked off to the edge of the clearing and leaned back against a nearby tree. Normally she found her watches peaceful, as she was able to organize her thoughts and clear her mind. However, this time her mind was a cluttered mess and no quiet forest night could help her with that. Her mind buzzed as she swept her gaze over the forest. Eventually her green eyes traveled over to Crow and she couldn't help but frown. With the others asleep, she didn't bother to hide any emotion and let an upset expression take over her face. She ran a hand through her hair and looked back out into the forest. She thought about how her father would react and the danger she'd be putting Crow in by being with him. Could she really do that to him? Even if he didn't end up getting caught, surely the amount of obstacles would eventually make him resent her. Perhaps he didn't think about that before we he said he'd have me.. She thought. He might still be able to get out of that kind of trouble. She thought as her gaze shifted over to William. I can act like I decided to end things and William will likely keep his mouth shut about us. It'll be like he never even knew me once he got back to the outer villages.. Penelope felt her throat tighten with sadness. She tried to push it away as she averted her gaze to the ground. I have to act fast though.. At the rate William and Crow are going, William might build up enough hatred for him to actually say something at the end of the trip.. She took in a deep breath as she tried to assure herself it was for the best. If it was what he choose, he'd be safer and they'd both have their old lifes to go back to. Tomorrow... I'll figure out a way to make time to tell him tomorrow.. Penelope told herself firmly despite the aching of her heart in her chest. She just hoped she could muster up the courage to do it. She watched the sky in silence as night began to give away into morning and glanced at the other two, knowing she'd have to wake them soon. Collecting herself, Penelope began to make her way over to Crow, bending down to place a hand on his shoulder to wake him up. "Time to get up."
