[indent]Dark, thick locks of hair cascade down Mina's back and curls around her youthful face. Her skin is the color of peanut butter, and speckling her nose are freckles that are a darker brown than her skin. She'll usually cover these freckles, as well as any other blemishes, with a thin layer of concealer and foundation. She has a prominent nose and full lips that always look poised to speak something important. But her most compelling feature is her piercing brown eyes that can change from affection to aversion without notice. Mina stands at five feet and eight inches tall, and weighs in at around one hundred-sixty five pounds. She is also very toned and athletic, thanks to spending a good portion of her time exercising and playing ball.

Mina carries herself elegantly with good posture, long confident strides, and her head held high. Due to this and her love of high heels, she often looks taller than she really is. When smiling, you can see that she has two rows of perfectly white teeth, a slight overbite present. When it comes to her fashion sense, Mina surprisingly likes to keep it simple. When she isn't sporting her basketball uniform or track suit around school, you'll usually see her wearing pants or jeans, a plain T-shirt, and a pair of sneakers or heels. When it's cold, she'll swap the T-shirt out for a solid colored sweater or wear a black, leather jacket over top of it. Mina does not have any visible scarring, but does have one that does down the length of her thigh from a childhood incident.[/indent]

[indent]It is very clear that Mina is a genuinely friendly young woman. On the surface, she proves to be a very energetic and lively person. When she's with her friends she is rarely seen without a goofy grin on her face. She can be described as the bright ray of sunshine in a group, always trying her best to make others happy whether it be by giving them authentic compliments or cracking jokes. Many of her friends also describe her as adventurous and spontaneous; she's usually the one trying to get people to step out of their comfort zones and try something new. What most people don't realize, however, is how little they actually know about Mina. She has a tendency to be a bit "two-faced," and is great at socially accommodating when around different groups of people in an attempt to be liked by everyone. Some call it "fake," while Mina just calls it adapting. 

Mina's intelligence is mostly based on her determination to succeed; all throughout grade school, she has studied more than the average student in order to "stay ahead of the game," as she likes to say. She's very articulate and observant, tending to notice things about people that they may not even be consciously aware of themselves. With the aid of her eloquence, Mina is very manipulative, like her mother, and finds joy in getting others to do as she pleases. Another trait she inherited from her mother is her love for the finer things such as flashy jewelry and expensive shoes. As a result, she is a bit of a kleptomaniac and takes things without thinking. She does not like to talk about her own personal life, instead preferring to hear about the lives of everyone else. She's very blunt and straightforward, and doesn't hesitate to put someone in their place. She also has anger issues and a bunch of pent up frustration; when pushed to her limit, she will blow up at whoever is nearby.

[indent]Mina Thomas was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of three girls, to single mother Andrea Thomas, a community college professor. Because of her mother's busy schedule, Mina and her sisters spent most of their time being looked after by their Grandmother in Harlem. Because of this, the sisters never quite formed a strong relationship with their mom, and always preferred to chill with Grandma rather than awkwardly "hang out" with their mother. While her sisters eventually grew out of this phase, Mina never really did. While the two older girls were out partying on Friday nights, Mina would be curled up in the house with her Grandma watching old episodes of In the Heat of the Night, Good Times, and Sanford and Son. 

Unlike her older sisters, Mina was extremely introverted growing up, and never made friends very easily. She'd spend most of her time, if not with Grandma, outside at the basketball court shooting hoops. It wasn't until she was eleven that her Grandmother finally convinced her to try out for the school basketball team. It was after making the team that she finally started to break out of her shell. As she grew older, her basketball skills improved greatly, as well as her social skills. She'd started to spend more and more time playing ball or hanging out with her teammates, and less time staying home with Grandma. When Mina was fourteen years old, her grandmother passed away from a heart attack; The whole family was crushed, but nobody was as upset as Mina was. It it wasn't for that wise old lady, she wouldn't be who she was today. 

The Thomas family moved upstate right before Mina's freshman year of high school; her mother had received a job offer that was too good to pass up. To say that the young lady was nervous about the move would be an understatement; part of her was worried that she would go right back to being the shy, timid girl she was in elementary and middle school. Thankfully, this did not happen. Motivated by her grandmother, Mina tried out for the women's basketball team, and soon earned a spot on the varsity squad. Now, in her Senior year of high school, Mina has not only earned the spot of team captain, but has also received multiple offers from colleges all over the country.[/indent][hr][hr]
