He stands at 6'1, with long, lanky limbs. He isn't extremely skinny, there is some leanness to him, but he could still be described as a pole. His skin is sensitive to the sun, so he has to pile on the sunscreen. As a result, he usually stays a pale color, though sometimes, a barely there tan may show up. He always gets excited about those. He has a mop of curly, brown hair atop his head. His sides are cut shorter, resulting in his curly hair flopping onto his forehead, sometimes hanging in his eyes. His eyes are a bright blue, only made more noticeable by his thick, long eyelashes and pale features. He attempts to take care of himself, by washing his face day and night, but there are plenty of more fun things than washing a face so he may not always manage. Even still, his face is pretty clear, with a couple scattered acne scars that aren't that bad. He has light freckles going across the bridge of his nose; they aren't that noticeable, but they do show up more during the summer or when somebody is really looking at his face. His clothing style is comfortable. He enjoys his jeans, his t-shirts, his button-ups, and his sneakers or boots. He rarely wears anything that isn't considered casual. He loves colors. Now that he has the option of what to wear, he loves to experiment with bright and wacky colors, or weird shirts or pants. He loves disappearing into an over-sized hoodie, or letting his arms feel the breeze of summer. Though, he's careful when he wears short-sleeves or shorts. He does have scars from his childhood abuse, and some are on his arms and legs. It's mostly burn marks, from cigarettes and lighters, but there are a few nasty looking scars from a sharp object. There aren't so many that it's immediately noticeable, but they are still there, so he's careful about what he wears when he knows he's going to be in a large group.
h a b i t s
chews on almost anything, like his clothes, pens, paper, and nails, to name a few. Quincy is no different. The young boy adores people. He loves long conversations, meeting new people, and healthy debating. He loves to hear people's thoughts, their ideas, and their dreams. He's a very charismatic, kind individual, that is outgoing and caring. He's also very open-minded and not judgmental at all. It makes him easy to talk to and tell anything to. Though, he's not very talkative himself. He'll ask questions, give his opinions or thoughts, but he says what he wants and not much else. He likes to observe and listen, rather than engage, which is one reason he enjoys the outdoors so much. There's a lot to witness outside. He's a hands-on person, so he can sometimes get touchy, his way of reassuring himself somebody is there with him, and not leaving. He gets a little anxiety when he's left alone in a room for a long period, or when it gets really loud. He realizes this, though, and is working on it, one of the things he hopes to work on during the summer, actually. He's a very self-aware person, and he can be honest with himself and others. Though, he doesn't like to be mean, so he may sugar-coat things, or avoid the truth altogether if it's painful. Sometimes, he might blurt it, to get it out, but his first line of defense is avoiding it. He is very loyal and adores all his friends. He loves having a lot of friends, because he likes to surround himself with different walks of life. But, his own personal hang-up, is that he can never get close enough to somebody to tell them his secrets, his backstory, or his fears. He tries really hard to make people laugh or be happy. If somebody is upset, he'll do a lot to help them. He doesn't like seeing people in pain, and he'll jump on the chance to help somebody, even a stranger. He can be stubborn, when it comes to getting through to somebody who is obviously upset and in need of a friend. He doesn't like giving up on somebody, or a task, for that matter. He's a pretty determined dude. He can actually be funny and punny sometimes, though there are those times he tries a little too hard, and his joke may fall flat. He also tries hard to be witty, but his comebacks are horrible. It makes him seem goofy though. Overall, Quincy is somebody who tries really hard to be there for his friends. He's somebody that is sweet, sometimes funny, and caring. He's a shoulder to cry on, a tactile person, and somebody who loves giving hugs and comfort. He's very interested in people's thoughts, what makes people tick, and how they function. He loves the world, the outdoors, and tries to keep his anxiety and fears at bay to have a good time with his friends.
h o m e t o w n
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
b a c k g r o u n d
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was home to Quincy Kingston Newman for nine years of his life. That city holds bad memories for the young boy. He was born into a household that never wanted children, and should have never had them. His parents were uncaring and poor, resulting in their son being neglected and witnessing things a child never should. They resented him, told him daily they never wanted him. If it wasn't for the bare minimum they did for him as a baby, he wouldn't had made it. It was a miracle a child survived in the run-down house, used needles and broken beer bottles scattered about. It seemed the older they got, the angrier they got. His mother completely ignored him once he was old enough to pull a stool up to the cabinets and attempt to find something edible. His father, though, didn't ignore him. After his parents would get high off of who knew what, and drunk off of the cheapest stuff, his father would find him. He was not nice. Usually, Quincy would manage to hide, but when his father did get ahold of him... it resulted in bruises and even cuts, tears and screams. One night, when he was seven, his father nearly drowned him in the bathtub. Quincy had tripped when bringing his screaming mother a glass of mountain dew mixed with cheap vodka, and spilled it everywhere. Quincy tried to run and hide, but his father snatched him up and threw him in the bathroom. He blocked the door, and made Quincy watch the bathtub filling up with cold water. Then, he proceeded to shove Quincy's head under repeatedly. At one point, Quincy blacked out, and woke up on the bathroom floor, beside the still full tub. Ever since, he had an intense fear of water. Quincy barely made it to school most of the time, always coming in dirty clothes and tattered shoes. He grew up in a rough area, an even rougher school system. It was almost the norm to see kids in clothes too big or ripped pants. Finally, a teacher took action when he was eight years old. Once he came to school with a black eye and visible burn marks on his arms, the teacher had immediately taken action. His father had finally slipped up and hurt him in visible places. Quincy was only a scared, malnourished child. He didn't understand what was happening. He didn't understand the police got involved, his parents got arrested, and he was being placed into the foster care system. For a year, he jumped from foster home to foster home, houses filled with kids. It was better, but not by much. At least he wasn't getting hit and he was being fed. When he turned nine, a Brooklyn couple that couldn't conceive their own child took an interest in him. The woman was a child psychologist, the father a Pre-K to 4th grade teacher. Quincy was scared of them at first, but after a couple more meetings, he began to warm up. They seemed nice, gentle. He hadn't experienced that a lot. Then, they adopted him. Quincy's whole world changed. At the beginning, it was hard. Quincy had never had a normal life in a loving and caring household. His new parents showed him what that was, though. He latched onto them quickly, had no trouble calling them mom and dad, and they were a family from the moment they had met. He grew to adore and trust them. With them, he got the help and tools he needed, and became a healthier and happier child. When he was a sophomore in high school, he admitted to his parents he was gay. He had known since he was eleven. They immediately accepted him, telling him they saw him no differently, and he didn't have to worry about it. Being around that positive energy caused him to be proud of his sexuality, rather than to hide it away. Though, not everything was good. Even after eight years, he still has nightmares, and still goes to therapy. He suffers from extreme paranoia at night, resulting in him staying up late into the night, and if he does manage sleep, a nightmare or terror usually wakes him up. Because of this, he is put on a medication that is supposed to help him sleep, though because of the paranoia, he doesn't take them every night like he should. He fears going into a heavy sleep and his birth parents kidnapping him without him realizing it. He also fears water and bathtubs, so, his parents made sure he had a walk in shower rather than a tubed shower. He still can't quite shake that fear. He is trying to get better, and get out. That's the whole point of him going on this big beach trip with his friends. He does not plan on swimming or getting near the ocean, though.

I think Bradley's in love. ♥ I mean, he's accepted and you may throw him into the Character Tab whenever you're ready.
