"My my, a challenger? Oho, well do your best and try not to loose too badly. The Peacock will not let itself be outdone."
Human Name: Savitri Singh Title: Peacock of Pride Sex: Female Age: 24 Occupation: Gladiator/Knight Errant Personality: As one might expect of the holder of the title of 'Pride', Sav is more than a little on the arrogant side. She is a tough one, spending her days training and bettering her own abilities and has no shortage of achievements to back up her claims as 'Pride' at even her relatively young age. She takes great pleasure in hearing about her own achievements, and plying her with compliments is the best way to get on her good side. She absolutely loves challenging herself and constantly strives to become stronger and better. Its safe to assume she'll never be satisfied with any amount of achievements until she's old and unable to move. Calm & level headed most of the time unless one decides to purposefully upset her. That said, she's far from unbearably arrogant. While its true her self assured nature and smug, 'better than you' attitude is certainly grating on people, its far from her entire being. She holds herself to extremely high standards, both morally and physically. She only wants people to do their best as well, after all. They'll never be as good as her anyways, so she has nothing to worry about. Tends to speak in grandiose, flamboyant terms and movements. In short, she's only concerned with one thing. Becoming stronger than everyone else in the world and will always take a challenge to prove said strength. [s]extremely sore loser[/s] Appearance: Standing at five foot six, Sav is far stronger than she appears with her dainty frame. With flawless skin, a petite and lithe body, she is befitting of the title of 'Pride' in body. Flawless perfection matched by none. With bright, eye-catching red hair and almost hypnotic green eyes, Sav is always the center of attention in the room. She can normally be seen wearing well made clothes as one would expect from a noble or wealthy individual. Fighting Skills: Typically, Sav fights with her rapier, supplementing her fighting skills with her Plumage Crown depending on the situations. Quick and light on her feet, she's pretty easily able to handle most fights without much of an issue. Special Ability: Plumage Crown: An ability that manifests itself as an ability to manipulate a form of light unique to Pride. Flashy and befitting of a peacock, it can be used for small scale illusions, as well as more directly. The illusions in question are small in nature, and not too complex. Typically just creating a temporary 'image' of herself to confuse opponents. Offensively, projectiles of varying sizes and effectiveness can be utilized. Backstory: Not far South from the Kingdom of Reever, there exists a peninsula, jutting out into the middle of a large sea. The Acla peninsula, upon which the once former powerhouse empire Escain stands. Once upon a time, years ago before they were brutally beaten by invaders and lost a majority of its power, Escain was a powerful Empire that could have even rivaled even Reever in power. Years of bad leadership, tyrannical rulers obsessed with their own hubris and power eventually led the once noble and powerful empire almost to Ruin, with it barely retaining a third of the power it once held. Escain is mostly known for its exports of fine wines & arts, and their generally hedonistic and free lifestyles, and their unrepentant displays of power and dominance. This, is where Savitri was born and raised for the first twenty years of her life. Born at the end of the last Emperors Reign to a declining noble family, Sav had a somewhat comfortable life, though her family couldn't always have the luxuries afforded to their status. Being stalwart supporters of the old Emperor certainly didn't help their positions when the power shift occurred and they faced constant harassment form both the current Empress and public. Still, it didn't get to her. After all, she knew from an early age she was destined for greatness. Whatever it was, she couldn't say, but she and everyone around her knew it. There was a certain charm about her, a certain magnetism that other people didn't have. Even without an excessively large fortune to her name, despite the ridicule her family received, she decided that she would do easily: Carve her name into the histories and the stars, and leave her mark upon the world whether it be terrible or pure. Needless to say, she didn't have many friends growing up because of her attitude. Smug, arrogant, was the top of her class in academics, and quickly became the gem of her house. She easily dismissed others, especially the lazy sorts for being simple minded fools with no desire to better themselves. For a child, she was incredibly well learned, almost as if she had a preternatural affinity for most tasks she set her mind too. Her powers began manifesting fairly early, along with vague notions of who and what she was, and didn't make any attempt at hiding it. Academics and simply life style however, was not something she was intent on sticking too. No, she had decided her first course of action and method of achieving fame, would be Escain's coliseum. The Coliseum was where the strong knights gathered and engaged in show fighting, blood sports. A harsh environment where only the best of the best could come out on top, where anything went so long as you did not directly kill your opponent or injured them with said intent. How could she not be attracted to the potential accolades, despite the danger? The thrill of fame and fortune attracted many from all walks of life. As soon as she was 14, she began training for that sole purpose. Sword, axe, polearm, Magic weaponry, but the one she ended up sticking with, was her rapier. Simple, light, and was easily a status symbol as much as she intended to be. Light on her feet and dedicate her abilities to evasion. After all, she couldn't get her hands so dirty. When she was 16, she was officially old enough to enter the Coliseum. A tournament, geared specifically towards new comers to the arena. She had both high hopes for herself, and intended to win the matches...but victory was just out of her reach. She made it to the finals, but no further. She was soundly defeated within the first ten seconds of the match. Despite coming in second, she lost. She wouldn't accept any other position than the best. The anger, rage, sheer annoyance that someone did better than her, nearly drove her mad for the following year as she continued to participate in the arena matches, focusing all of her energy into both bettering her combat abilities. One year later, she was given a chance to have a rematch with the fellow that defeated her. This time, things were far different. She was victorious this time, but she didn't let her opponent off so easily. Of course not. Insults to her had to be repaid. She brutalized him during the match, soundly, assuredly beating him - going so far as to publicly humiliate him as she perceived he had her. First was his legs. Had to make him kneel, after all. Couldn't stand as tall as she. Next was his tongue. He'd never spew such insults or even think about it again...and lastly was one of his eyes, she skewered her rapier right through his cranium. Needless to say, he was never fighting again. After dealing the finishing blow, the crowd cheered, not having seen such bloodsport since the previous emperors time, and she of course, accepted the accolades. The vicious rumors of her being a cruel, merciless tyrant, are all false. She was just getting her dues, after all. For the next three years, she worked her way up the Coliseum's ranks, sometimes fighting foes who were utterly disappointing, or foes that proved somewhat challenging. Those who used standard sword and shield, and those who fought with magic weaponry. It was all the same to her, they were just stepping stones on her path to greatness. And finally, when she was just twenty years old, she was the youngest to achieve the highest honor in the Coliseum, the 'Aclan Rose', a medal and title bestowed only to those with either great military gains or other impressive feats, bestowed by the Empress herself. After this, she left, becoming a traveling knight for the next years, though returning occasionally to make sure they remember who she is. And so now she finds herself in Reever.
