He's difficult to stay mad at for extended periods of time. Perhaps it's because he is directionless and just thinking about trying to get a high, or maybe it's from the glimpses people get at the good and caring soul beneath all of the pain. He also has a great sense of humor and excellent comedic timing, which no doubt helps with his charm. His life appears to be a constant party. 

Of course, beyond the almost ditzy behavior inspired by his addiction, Casper is manipulative, deceptive, cunning, and intelligent. He is excellent at keeping secrets, managing to shut out even those who care about him from what is going on in his life with ease. When he meets people, he is able to manipulate situations to his advantage, even hurting himself in the process to sell whatever story is needed to get what he wants. If he wasn't so obsessed with getting high, he would be an incredibly dangerous and powerful mutant. 

He can talk his way out of just about anything and get people to do things that they normally never would do.

[b][color=DBA1DE]How did you discover your powers:[/color][/b] Casper was at his father's mansion, after spending a week with his mother. He was still smiling widely, remembering the fun they had had at a carnival - how his mom had bought him all the cotton candy he could have possibly wanted. Hardly seven years old, Casper was running through the hallways, holding a toy airplane in one hand as he made sound effects. 

At the end of one of the hallways, he saw a man with a brown jacket. He looked a little funny to Casper, not realizing at first what was wrong with him. When Casper noticed that he was covered in blood and not jam as he had initially assumed, the little boy screamed and ran to his father's office. It turned out that Casper had seen the ghost of a mutant named Morph who blamed Casper's father for him losing his life. 

[b][color=DBA1DE]General History:[/color][/b] Casper's mother, a mutant called Renegade, was a member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants. She had an affair with the renowned geneticist and mutant rights activist, Charles Xavier - a long lasting affair that resulted in Casper and his two older siblings, David and Valentine. They lived with their father practically year round, since his mother's job wasn't safe and she didn't want her children anywhere near Magneto and the others. His older siblings proved to be mentally unstable however and they were sent to an asylum run by a former student of Xavier's who might be able to help them. They never returned to the Mansion. 

However, Casper wasn't completely alone. His roommate during the school year was his half-brother, Jack. He loved his little brother, stealing extra snacks and toys to share with him whenever he could. They played Star Wars and Army and other games of pretend on the grounds of the Mansion. But since Jack had a different father, he would go home for the summers and leave Casper alone. Not very many students stayed at the Institute year round his age and Casper's father was cold and distant to him. He would push the little boy to extremes that no children should have had to go through, all in the name of making him live up to his full potential. 

This arrangement ended when Casper was 13 due to the Mausoleum Incident. His father, deciding that Casper wasn't trying hard enough with his powers and wanting him to get over his fear of ghosts, locked him in a Mausoleum for a week. He was given food and water, but otherwise had no contact with the outside world. Casper screamed and cried the entire time, begging to be let out and to have the nightmare end. When his mother found out, that was it - she pulled her two sons out of Xavier's school and moved the family to New Orleans, but the damage to Casper's psyche would impact the rest of his life. 

In New Orleans, Casper turned to drugs in order to manage his powers. He didn't want to see ghosts, feeling paralyzing fear and dread whenever they turned up. The drugs somehow managed to keep them out, except for a persistent few but they usually didn't stick around much. And with his mother constantly being busy with Brotherhood activities, there wasn't really anyone around to stop him. He dropped out of high school after his best friend, Ben, was murdered by Purifiers. Ben's ghost was the only one whose presence never scared him and Ben has been haunting him almost constantly since his death. 

Casper's life hasn't really changed much since then. He's homeless and doesn't have any stable relationships. He's an addict and is constantly looking for his next high, not stability.
