Wandering into the palace, Dalious was in awe of all the colors and designs. So many rubies and ornaments, fresh on display for all to see. He wondered how long it would take him to chisel one of those precious stones out of the walls. His attention shifted to an Exodus guard wearing fine armor and standing still while the people passed. The guard looked him over once as he approached, noting his rugged and dirty clothes. "Good day fine sir, could you perhaps point me in the direction of the prince of Luthra?" Dalious asked, trying his best to keep a solid composure. The ground was still moving and he was seeing double. "I've not heard word of the prince, but the mother and father have arrived," the guard replied and pointed in their direction. Dalious winced. "That's alright I'll just keep looking," he said. "He likes to run from his own bodyguard sometimes, the sneaky little bastard. Thanks anyway..." "Your his bodyguard? Then you're late," the guard stated. "It's tradition for the royal bodyguards to participate in the entertainment. Follow me." Dalious nodded and followed the man, it was about time he was recognized. A smile brewing on his face, he just knew that he was heading right for the finest luxuries this place had to offer. Food, wine, and women. For a moment, he thought participating in the entertainment meant some kind of orgy. "Now we're talking, you lot run a fine palace here." It was when he was brought into the armory that he realized it meant something else. Three different servants began putting steel armor on him, not even giving him a moment to think before the breast plate was placed and latched on. "Wait, the bloody hell is this? What's the armor for?" "The tournament will start soon, you're expected to lose," the guard informed him. "Remember it's just for fun, no killing. Put on a show and good luck!" The guard wandered off as the servants finished equipping his shoulder plates and boots. "What tournament?" Dalious asked as he left, the servants handed him a shield and sword. "Hey, get back here you misleading piece of shit! I'm not even the prince's bodyguard, I'm a bloomin' pirate! Hey, get back here!" When he was finished with his little tantrum one of the servants leaned in and whispered, "We'll need your name to announce it when you fight." She held out a pad and a feathered pen while Dalious just stared at her with a grim expression. He sighed and shrugged. "Fuck it, sign me up." He scribbled his name down for her and went to prepare.
