To say that it had been a bad day for Brogan and the rest of the Hounds of Humanity would be a massive understatement. Not only did a coalition of metas and supernatural beings decimate the Hounds’ ranks and destroy the Finger of God, but rumors had quickly begin circulating among the remaining Hounds forces that their own leader, Travis Murdock himself had been captured. However, none of that mattered to Brogan at this moment. His chopper was one of the few remaining units still in the sky, and he and his crew had one job—To make sure that none of the heroes made it out of the Hounds base alive. As the chopper’s gunner, he would use the side mounted mini gun to mow down as many of the interlopers as possible. Should that fail, the chopper was equipped with a bunker buster bomb, and the pilot was to send the chopper into a nosedive and level the entire area. Though Brogan did not want to die, and hoped that it would not come to that, he was willing to sacrifice himself for the cause. “There they are!” He shouted, pointing at a pair of female heroes, one dressed in purple, pink and chrome, and the other with teal colored skin. “Get me a bit closer!” He ordered the pilot. On his order, the pilot swung the chopper around which put the two women directly in Brogan’s line of fire. Brogan took aim and was just about to pull the trigger when he thought that he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He wasn’t sure what he saw, it was just a blue and silver blur that was gone just as fast as it had appeared. Truth be told, he wasn’t actually sure that he had seen anything at all. Then the chopper violently tilted to one side, forcing the mini gun skyward. Then, the chopper rocked hard the other way. Then there was the sound of crushing metal and the collision alarm began to blare as the chopper seeming spun out of control toward the ground. Brogan was sure that he was dead. Whatever, or whoever had hit the chopper had ensured that, of that he was sure. The chopper would crash and the bunker buster would do the rest. He took some solace in the fact that although he would die today, he would take his enemies with him in a single explosive blast. However, the chopper did not careen into the ground. Instead, something, or someone had slowed the chopper’s descent and gently set the chopper down on the ground. Then a white gloved hand reached into the chopper and grabbed Brogan by the collar of his shirt and pulled him from the wreck. Brogan immediately reached for his side arm, but when he looked in to domino masked eyes of the man who had single handedly bought the chopper down, he thought better of it and just resigned himself to the fact that he’d been captured. “Smart move.” Icon said as he set the Hound down on the ground and handed him over to several National Guard soldiers who stood behind him with their weapons trained on the chopper and its former occupants. After Icon handed over the crew of the chopper to the National Guard, who had oly just arrived on the scene, he immediately made his way toward the entrance of the Hounds of Humanity base. However, as he approached the base he saw some movement at the entrance. Then, a sense of relief washed over him as he saw both Radiance and Lyger making there way out of the complex. “Was that you?” Icon asked as he pointed to the sky to where the Finger of God had been. “Yeah.” Radiance said as she brushed his hand slightly. “We made a pretty good team.” She said to Lyger who had already begun walking away. “We did.” Lyger called back over his shoulder. “What do you say we finish mopping up here, then head home.” Icon said with a grin. “I think that’s the best idea you’ve had in weeks.” Radiance said with a grin as she headed over to some of the other heroes who had begun gathering outside.
