It was a modest town, no doubt, but it was still a whole new place with a brand new attitude. And... Well, he wasn't going to attempt the gym or the contests, those were too difficult. But the only time he'd been inside a gym was during a field trip to the Cerulean gym when he was younger. And he'd fallen inside the pool... As for being in a contest arena, well, that hadn't happened either. His lack of interest in pokemon in general had made it so he had never bothered to watch much about them on tv as well.

Suffice to say, he was curious. Maybe... Just maybe, some people there would have advice for him. Some words of encouragement or guidance that would help him from losing so much.
