A bunch of time spent worrying about starving and trying to ignore what had happened in Shiganshina; what had happened to her father, or at least what everyone said had happened. As far as she was concerned it was all bullshit, or at least that's how she felt the first year. The year after that hope had pretty much been written out of her mind. Her father had done his duty and gotten killed for it. She supposed she should've been prepared for it. Her life after Shiganshina had been lonely and harsh, surviving off scraps and whatever people could afford to give her. Sometimes she would have to take things to just have a meal for the day. But eventually enough was enough, and she was here. A cadet. She supposed she was going to join them eventually. She nearly winced as Schulz's abhorrent breath flew into her face, spit in her face. She was not a frail girl, small as she was. She almost considered her knuckles fist forward into his throat for grabbing her as he did, but she decided that there would be no point and she didn't exactly feel like “military discipline” would be particularly fun at the moment. Her expression remained flat and unimpressed. She was probably one of the few cadet's to not show an instinctive reaction. “My name is Adèlyn. Adèlyn Ziegler.” She responded after he shoved her away, wiping her chest clean with the same unimpressed demeanor. “What do you want me to do, sir? Because I'll do it and I'll do it better than anyone else here.”
