HE WHO SWAYS THE MIND SHALL SOON HAVE THE HEART AND BODY ALSO Deity Name: Dao Rugadh Domain: Memory Appearance: No one's really seen him before. They say that when he takes a form he is a tall, angelic figure with large eyes, and sometimes, he takes the form of someone you love, someone he pulls from your memory. Sometimes he takes the form of a pale man, and it is said when he is the pale man, he has intent to become ruler of the area by way of manipulation of the populace's memories. Realm: The Akhainne, the land of memory. It is said to be like a desert of glass with a white sky and light but no sun, and underneath the glass lies a flowing river of images, memories of man. Somewhere in this land lies a tower of mirrors, mirrors that reflect the memories of the soul who approaches it. Besides these, the realm is said to be empty, almost devoid, except for the occasional Sirenic, a creature who searches one's memory for a form to take and feeds on the memories of mortals when close until they forget everything they ever knew. It's said only one chosen by Dao Rugadh is allowed one. However, it is also rumored that, if one follows one of his divine beings, such as the Sirenic, then one will find a gate into the Akhainne. Gateways usually reside just below the surface of the water and require either the sacrifice of a notable memory or for a memory being to sacrifice one for you. Personality: Dao Rugadh is the God of memory, yet he craves many things that are not his. While it may not be obvious to other gods, he is obsessed with mortals, especially because his domain deals almost entirely with the memory of mortals. He often takes the form of a mortal and manipulates memories until he can insert himself into a community as if he always lived there. Often, and this is another sign of his future ambitions, he will manipulate memories until he becomes the local ruler over the people, forming small cults. When he leaves these cults to return to his realm or find a different mortal land, they often remember him but forget every detail of his appearance or voice. He wishes for the power to create life, the power to manipulate the earth, many things. He wants to watch history, change history, be part of history, create history. His mood often changes from one moment to the next, unpredictably shifting from anger to joy to calm. He loves being the center of attention. He regards his fellow gods as friends, despite the fact that he isn't actually on good terms with everyone. Other: Some say he plans on shaping the mortal races to his rule, under a false name and false memories. Others say he works to eventually gain the power to use his powers on gods just as easily as mortals. Both prospects are potentially worrying. Many do not remember the name Dao Rugadh. He has had many names, and his skill with memory prevents many from recalling which was his first and true name. He goes by Iba, Gedag, Jiy Xinli, Neiblo, and Unsvi Svo. Some say it is because he wishes privacy; some say it is part of some hidden agenda; some say it is simply because he enjoys messing with people's minds. It is rumored that once, when Dao Rugadh came down to the mortals, he fell in love with, of all thing, a mortal human named Ander. The god knew it would end in tragedy, but continued nonetheless. Ander knew the god as Gedag, and, to most, their relationship seemed one of a mortal chief and a loyal servant. Gedag, as he was known back then, kept their relationship secret from all, though to keep away the gods' eyes was a difficult task, one easier accomplished by his mortal disguise. This all took place after the birth of womankind, proving then how loyal Ander was to Gedag. Ander was, indeed, loyal, which, in the end, was responsible for his death. A warrior of unmatched caliber by the name of Fen attempted to overthrow Gedag - known to those mortals that weren't Ander as Gavin - and entered the tent in which the two men resided. Ander approached Fen with no weapons, as he was not himself a capable warrior and rarely kept himself in company of weapons. Fen, with two cruel knives, slashed across Ander's arms, which were raised in self defense. Then he stabbed Ander through the hand with one knife and plunged the second into Ander's stomach, then repeated the motion nearly a dozen times. Ander fell, almost instantly dead from his wounds. Gedag, awaken and distraught, retaliated by wiping Fen's mind with such strength that the man was rendered catatonic. He fled back to Akhainne. For a while, he was in grief, but he still had the memory of Ander which he could relive in the Akhainne whenever he wanted. Even still, he misses his mortal from time to time.
