Tarkus nodded a bit when Jaclyne asked if he was ready to move, he wasn't too surprised that she could keep up with him...it was kinda hard for him to really outrun much with Cadeyrn weighing him down anyway. He noticed the watch beep and smiled for a moment, glad that things were finally- -FWIP- His eyes widened as he felt the pressure around his ankles start, as if something had grapsed them. It felt like... a strong rope...but he had a bad feeling. After all, Grimm didn't make snares. Some of them were snares...Fucking Vampire Trees. He'd read about them once...honestly wondered how anybody would be blind enough to get close to one. Turns out they look like trees...who'd have figured? The pressure started to build as he felt the roots tighten, he couldn't turn around to face his binder, but he was more concerned when he heard the cracking of branches moving, he knew what was about to happen, and instinctively, he reached for Cadeyrn still slung to his back, and tried his best to load one of his shells in. He was getting nervous from the whole: "About to get wrung dry by a tree thing, so he fumbled a bit with unzipping his satchel, his fingers twitched around inside the pouch, at this point anything would help him...anything. And that anything would be his new partner, racing in to save his ass from a splintery death, dodging an onslaught of tendril-like branches before cutting into the roots binding him. He could hear some sort of sound coming from her axe...he figured it was probably her Semblance, something to do with sharpness...he made a note to ask about it later, because know was not the time to ask anyway. At least not until they got their cache...Now free from the roots, Tarkus rolled away from the Vampire Tree, his fingers now locked around one of his Lightning AP rounds. He turned to Jaclyne as he regained his stance giving her a thumbs up before saying: "Thanks for the save! Now, let's clean house and go grab that cache..." He revolved the head out, and removed the APCR rounds, and swapped them out for 4 HEFT rounds, no way in hell a tree was gonna dodge these anyway. They were dust free, though after the 4 HEFT he also inserted one round of ACPR Lightning dust into the 4th chamber, he didn't want to leave himself open in case something else showed up. He let loose one of the rounds into the one that had grabbed Jaclyne, the shot rang out and when it collided with the bark-like skin of the Tree it embedded itself, before exploding violently, the tungsten wires cutting into the bark along with the explosion of the shot. The thing didn't go down after just one, so he unloaded another shot into it, at this point he'd completely obliterated the trunk and the thing toppled over. Tarkus had visibly slid back from the force of the shots, the head was pressed hard against his chest as he drag his feet back to where he was before, and did the same to the Tree's not-so-friendly neighbor, who befell the same fate after the same number of shots. "So, what are the odds our team is gonna be there at the cache?" He said, not taking his eyes off the remaining Trees, prepared to evade any more of their knots if need be.
