It was a nervous tic that she had developed. Though through her training with Gio she had regained some of her confidence and was more stable mentally, she wasn't completely healed and wouldn't be for some time. But, it was something more particular that brought forth a smothering amount of anxiety to the forefront just then. It was having to see a certain--She stopped dead in her tracks as she entered the study and her gaze landed on Nancy. She knew logically that the Emendator would be here, but nevertheless, that knowledge did little to sway the visceral reaction she had at seeing the woman again. She had mostly managed to avoid the woman over the last five months, but she knew that sooner or later she would have to face her again. However, she was right to think that no amount of time would be enough to make it any easier. She felt her heart beating erratically, and her breaths came in and out sharply. She quickly ripped her gaze away from Nancy. Everyone else likely saw the Emendator as a carefree spirit as she sat there eating her caramel chews, but all Alexandra could see was the woman's face just before she shut the door in her face. It was a month of hell, locked away in that mental asylum under the effects of psychosis. She would never be able to forget what she had undergone, no matter how much she so desperately wanted to. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking in a deep exhale followed by a shaky exhale. She then silently found a vacant spot in the room, all the while with downcast eyes and a diminutive demeanor. She was still truly a shell of her former self. She took a seat in one of the vacant spots, not directly acknowledging anyone's presence. She would take occasional glances around the room from under her dark lashes and her leg bounced slightly, but that was basically it as far as outward appearances go. Despite her nervousness, she did note the blatant absence of Evelina. Wasn't she usually the one who led these types of meetings? Curious. She didn't think too much of it apart from that. She figured that there was some suitable explanation. She finally made direct eye contact with someone, namely Alicia, as the elder paradox adjourned the meeting. The woman sort of fumbled through it all, but Alexandra supposed the woman wasn't used to doing this sort of thing. A week off? She wasn't so sure she liked the sound of that. It essentially meant a week alone to her thoughts. No, she needed to keep her mind busy. Her brows rose slightly as Alicia handed out some envelopes along with some grim words. The bouncing of her leg stopped as she gingerly took the envelope from Alicia, and her heart sank at the words written on it. Personal Reviews. That most certainly won't be good. She sat there for awhile, just staring down at the unopened envelope. She was scared to open it and even more afraid to read what it had to say. She finally just slipped it under her thigh. She would read it at a later time when she was properly alone. She didn't want to break down in front of these people. Besides, this was just something she felt that she had to do alone, something she would need to meditate on. No more handholding. She had to learn to be strong on her own. As she pulled herself out of her ruminations, she caught the tail end of the Emendators and Elder Paradoxes' conversation, or at least what she understood of it. As a few of the other paradoxes spoke up, she finally understood what was going on. Eve was missing?
