It’s been 3 months since half the world’s population disappeared. With the disappearance of half the world’s heroes cane chaos. The world is in peril. Worst yet, the streets of Manhattan are in danger. There are no Defenders to keep the people safe. In this void, a new strand of heroes can rise. That Burroughs is their testing ground. Can they stop the resurgence of a criminal empire?

This RP is geared to be a sandbox RP in Manhattan within the Marvel Universe. I do not intend for characters to start off working together, but rather working alone. I, as the DM, will throw situations and villains at you as needed... but ultimately your story is your own. This is a chance to develop a character as you see fit.

[h3][color=ff0000]Background[/color][/h3]

This RP takes place in an AU based heavily on the MCU. Following the events of Infinity War, the remaining Avengers have been mobilized throughout the world to not only provide humanitarian (and defensive) aid or to begin developing a plan to get back at Thanos and bring back some of the world’s greatest heroes. The Defenders of New York have all disappeared (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, etc.) following the snap, leaving New York vulnerable.

Crime is up. Looting is frequent, a housing crises has begun. The economy is crashing, and companies are crumbling under the pressure of losing half their workforce and management. The world is in chaos. Martial Law was declared, but resources are limited still. Your heroes are living in a near disaster zone.

That being said, daily life continues. Most go to work without issue in the morning, and go home to their families at night. The bars are full. The only difference... new drugs fill the streets. The tougher parts of the city are more dangerous. Break-Ins are more frequent, as are thefts. Criminals are bolder, getting their hands on more dangerous weapons. And someone in particular is giving psychopaths and career criminals the tech they need to become super villains.

[h3][color=ff0000]Characters[/color][/h3]

Characters are street level vigilantes, and have only recently come to prominence. Perhaps you have powers, able to flip cars with your might or fire beams of energy from your eyes. You aren’t particularly powerful: your powers have limits, and even a run in with a group of thugs gets dangerous if you get too cocky. Or perhaps you’re just a capable fighter, a trained swordsman or a former soldier with good aim. You’re not a Stark or a Rogers, at most you’re a Parker or a Castle. You can write up a CS for a street-level character in the marvel Universe that is not in the MCU, or you can write up an OC.
