Theo's words struck Callum like a warm summer ray. His whole life, everyone he knew was at a different level than him. Callum's royal blood, in many ways a curse as much as it was blessing, put him dimensions above any servant, commoner or indeed even some nobles he met. Meanwhile his place in line and lack of any real title, placed him miles below everyone else, his parents and siblings included. And each had their own set of rules and decorum to follow, resulting in Callum becoming something of an island among his peers. Without even realising it, he had come to feel utterly alone in it all. There had never been someone that Callum could act and speak with as an equal; unburden his mind with and perhaps return the favour. No one with whom he could simply be him. Not Callum the Prince of Junia, but Callum the person like any other. Until he met Theo that is. From the beginning the pirate king had never treated Callum like he was his superior, and despite a million and one rules saying otherwise, Callum was unable to Theo as less-than. It was as though puzzle pieces were coming together in his mind. Then; with a bolt of lightening they clicked together as he felt the chapped, life-worn lips of a pirate caress his own. It was only for a second but nevertheless left the prince astonished. Though, not upset or frightened like one would expect to be in such a situation. As if to confirm that he had not dreamt it Callum began to bring his hand towards his mouth but was stopped short when Theo's lips found his again. This time, of their own accord, Callums's lips responded pleasantly and when it was over a second later, he briefly wished it had lasted. The whirling, pleasant feelings briefly flickered to panic when he was promptly pulled on top of the pirate. Callum couldn't possibly do anything further, and the look in the pirates eyes caused his trust to falter. Callum was tougher than he looked, this he knew, but Theo was even tougher still. What if the pirate decided he didn't like the word no? As if reading his mind, Theo pulled him into a loose embrace, silencing the young mans unfounded doubt. Like that, the two men laid for quite some time, Callum enjoying the steady beat of Theo's heart and the softening breath as he drifted off. Despite the pirate king being in a deep slumber, Callum stayed. Reveling in what was surely a once in a lifetime experience, something to be treasured. His fingers finding themselves entwined in the hair on Theo's chest. His mental argument with the gods grower quieter. Then, like some sort of magic, the cell had lightened in an instant and a bird had appeared on the window sill, pecking at the bars. It took however but a moment for the situation to dawn on Callum. That it had become actual dawn and that he must of drifted off himself for a time. Engulfed in panic, Callum scrambled to his feet in record time, taking the cloak from the floor and draping it over himself. Praying that he had awoken before the wardens rounds. His attention was stolen by the sound of Theo snorting as he tossed to face the door, still deep in slumber. The prince made his way back across the floor and delivered a chaste kiss to the mans forehead and against his better judgement, another to his lips. He let that one lingering a bit before cover Theo in the blanket and leaving. After quietly making his way through the jail to the ground, careful to avoid any guards, Callum ran across the courtyard. His legs moving faster than they ever had throughout the castle, racing against the clock to his room. Begging something higher than himself that he's make it before the servants arose.
